What nonsense - why do we need ridiculous laws like this? If it's legal to hand out the morning after pill to teens at planned parenthood then why is it illegal to hand out food at your own house?

What percentage of blacks are on the US Gov't payrolll. I'm not talking welfare. I'm talking gov't payroll welfare. Indeed - that's the same reason why it's illegal to buy imported tobacco - even if it saves the lower income class (who are the largest demographic of smokers) lots of money, they don't get to tax it so no deal.

But they want more people on Food Stamps, because they know that people dependent on govt. assistance are more likely to vote Democrat.

Taking the long view.
By preventing/inhibiting charities and doing away with the tax deduction for charitable gifts the government forces people to turn the government for assistance...and no one will vote against the hand that feeds them.

 

Zoning ordinances are in place for a purpose. The reason this is causing a stir is emotional, nothing more. The township has exercised fairness by allowing the program to continue for the summer, and asked that the proper steps/procedures be followed next year, if the lady wishes to continue the program in the same location. Perfectly fair in my personal opinion.

My guess is, if someone were to decide to open a strip club beside an elementary school, everyone would be screaming for the zoning ordinances to be enforced.
