Exactly. Jeb wants to do the partisan thing in every thread.

There is nothing "partisan" about pointing out the irony of these posts. It's strange to me that people say they are defenders of the Constitution and in thread after thread they propose things that are clearly unconstitutional. If we don't point those contradictions out and discuss them then what are we doing here?

No! The point of the thread is that that (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) bureaucrat didn't get off his "important" ass and go down and help this woman get the permits she needed-LIKE A PUBLIC SERVANT-instead of being a dickweed OVERLORD and trying to shut her down so only the state could feed the children.

Just to clarify that for you.

Well YOU are trying to derail a thread and take the attention off of statist oppression.
    I'm trying to highlight it.

The woman said "roofs were falling in" in the neighborhood....to me, that suggests the bureaucrats haven't been too overly concerned with habitable occupancy ordinances and deed restrictions...choosing instead, to harass one person who's trying to do good in a blighted area the township has been neglecting and ignoring up until now.

but, as you illuminated, maybe they've backed off a little.

I think this highlights the problem of government. It should not be the answer for social problems, only defense issues and those issues relating to commerce. Any time the government attempts to fix a social ill...it always makes it worse.

It is her responsibility to be informed.

It is not the responsibility of the township to go door to door apprising persons of ordinances for ever conceivable thing that person may think of.

This is exactly the goal. These leftist government authoritarians want NO competition. They want the poor 100% dependent on BIG GOVERNMENT to survive thus insuring the Democratic Party Bureaucracy power.

It's all about control. What really infuriates the Democrats is that it is black people not willing to remain government dependent. How dare they.

Nor is it the job of government to create so many ordinances that you can't use common sense and be in the safety zone.

sure thing. Now discuss the point of the thread as it was explained to you. But you don't want to do that. Deflect, deny, disemble. It's all you got.

I agree with this, but I don't see it as primarily "leftist", at least at the very tip top. There is something much bigger and less partisan going on.

No one wants little hungry kids running around near their property, thats why ZONING laws exist, to prevent this nuissence.

If their hungry, they should get taxpayer funded welfare to feed them, not have a tyrannical private charity take up space on public property.

I personally didn't even watch the video before originally posting. The unconstitutionality of the OP's remarks were ironic enough without having to watch the video.

I have since taken a minute and watched the video and I can honestly say I'm not sure what people are up in arms about. The woman violated a city ordnance. All this "statist" garbage that seems to be the new Newt Gingrich vocabulary word is just nonsense. People rage against Obama, and the federal government when in reality it is the local government that they created that is responsible for most of the pain in the butt laws. Heck a lot of the time it isn't even the government it's the Home Owners Association. Move to one of those gated communities in the suburbs of a red state and see what happens if you set up a tent and start feeding poor black kids every day on your front lawn. How long do you think that will last? What does that have to do with Obama, the federal government, or even city/county laws?

Also, the MERCIFUL government, gave the lady a temporary extension until the end of the summer, even though she is breaking the law.

Again, if you want your private charity on public property, follow proper procedures, get a variance and pay your dues and stop complainin,g because our government provides charity for the hungry thru food stamps, there is no need to go over their heads like this with your moral arrogance.

We have a local tax collector who does just that. And other departments go out to see if they can get into your house To see if you've done any improvements on the inside. They can now check out your property by satellite to see if you've put up any structures or additions. CHeck out your own local gov't GPS sites. They have no problems violating our privacy for these infractions. But they can't work with someone to feed hungry kids. Maybe it has something to do with incoming funds to pay their salaries.

Yup. A very reasonable post. If we all approached politics this way it would solve most of our problems.

All of what you've said is true. You'll note that I said this is not particularly "leftist" and that it is part of a larger agenda of control. Those with money, those with educations honestly believe they are better than the rest of the masses, better able to make decisions, and treat adult humans like children.

These laws are convoluted and a way of ensuring both the type of commerce that lobbyists paid for and the type of regulations which solidify governmental control.

10% of our regulations are valuable (clean water, clean air, livestock crowding), the rest of the 90% benefits someone other than the intended recipients. Allow people to make some mistakes. We can't save the world from stupidity even with full body padded suits, so why prevent the normal flow of human interaction with onerous regulations?

    Freedom tastes better than regulation.

Truth. I don't like this move to zero privacy. What about those of us who essentially hate people? We can't be (*)(*)(*)(*)ing hermits anymore? (*)(*)(*)(*)!
