310,000,000 minus 10,000 = 309,990,000 people who are not going into malls, movies, and schools randomly killing people. Do you know what percentage of people are spree shooters of that 10,000?

Do you use this one size fits all approach to races, too? Like do you go around thinking this race is more violent than the next because there are 10k more people doing something than another race?

Maybe...just maybe...you should look at how many people DO NOT go around shooting people and put some importance on them and their statistics?

See. . . Revolutions sometimes (as you say. . .history tells us. . .) have a way of turning AGAINST the revolutionaries, and to make a bad situation even worse.

Who would fire on American Citizens? Simple. . .tell the "extreme Right" that people in the Blue States are keeping the patriots from "liberating " their country. . .and guess what? You'll have MANY amateurs! I bet even Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh would agree to push the button to drop that mini nuclear bomb on NY City or Chicago. . .or California, of course!

After all, you don't really think that all those "proud gun owners" all over the US buy those guns to defend themselves ONLY against "foreigners," do you? If that was the case. . .maybe we wouldn't have so many AMERICAN CITIZENS, INCLUDING CHILDREN die by firearms EVERY YEARS.

Let's start talking about human reality in the USA. Compare the Iran-Iraq war (1980-8, the Syrian civil war (2011-?) and the death statistics in the blackest of cities in the USA (i.e. New Orleans, LA, Camden, NJ, Detroit, MI, East St. Louis, IL, etc). Would it be disturbing to you to realize that on a per-capita-basis it is safer to live in Kabul, Afghanistan than Camden, NJ, USA? I am not making this stuff up, man.

Once to twice a month I have to take on federal cases. It was an eye opener for me. I don't get my info from Alex Jones, I get it from my job.

And do not believe for a moment that my life as ALWAYS been easy and safe. "Safety" is a very subjective and relative concept. I have been in danger, and I have been poor. . .very poor, as I grew up in post WWII Belgium in a family of 6 children.

But I refuse to give in to other people's concept of "safety" or "danger," and it has served me well. It has served me well when I was facing some of clients with paranoid schizophrenia, and when I was kicking a drug dealer out of the trailer of one of my my clients dying with AIDS.

I resent your comment about President Obama killing young American teens. And I would like you to either withdraw that or provide a factual link. Or are you talking about drones in Afghanistan? I believe that (although I hate wars of all kind, and I do not approve of killing anyone, much less innocent by standers) that President Obama is doing the best he can to order "surgical strikes" in that region instead of sending another 200,000 of our troops to be used as shooting target in a country that even the Russians have NEVER been able to control.

No. . .I do not speak of all Democrats. In fact, I don't even think of myself as a Democrats, and I am a registered Independent, because I will not plege allegiance to ONE party, but rather I want to keep my options open about whom to vote for.

It is so strange though, how sometimes you can sound so very mature and extremely bright and balanced (this is why I really admire and respect you as a poster), and other times you seem like a 17 year old immature, brainwashed youngster with the need to "revolte" against every possible form of authority!

I am not saying that in a mean or offensive sense. Because even when you sound much younger and less "balance" than your age, you still are an excellent poster and more intelligent than 90 % of the posters in this forum. . .but it is like talking to "Eve" (from the multiple personality disorder movie. . .not from the Bible!).

Anyway. we both know that we are not trying to convince each other. . .as it would be impossible. And I think we both know that the REAL art of finding a government for the people, by the people is somewhere in the middle of where we both stand.

The problem we have in this country isn't the gun culture. The problem we have in this country is the excuse culture of the left and there near insane willingness to blame tools for what crazy people do with them. Even in my increasing state of decrepitude I suspect that were I so inclined I could probably kill about as many kids under seven with a baseball bat as this ass clown did with a gun. You want defense against violent crazies with a gun by your own gun take some tactical lesson and spend 50-60 dollars a month practicing with it until you can actually hit something with it on a consistent basis. Then get your c&c licence.

By the way police response time vary from about 15 minute to an hour depending on circumstances time and place. You can fire a lot of bullets with if you have extra ten round clips for your pistol in fifteen minutes.
