It's a curious thing to people. Don't give them the sense that they are correct in their assumption, and they'll stop asking you. Why would you be there giving off signals that you're into men ? Now, if you meant during employment interviews, I'd have to call 100% BS on that.
With all the things I see posts getting removed over, and threads closed for.... this gutter-level name calling is allowed to survive ?
The business in your example did use hate, hate of gay marriage and the belief that gays don't have the right to it. You just only recognize one side of it. Let me be clear... A business should have the right to sell or not to sell to whomever it pleases for whatever reason. Government should not get involved. Its their private property. But I personally wouldn't deal with any business that turns people away based on arbitrary things such as skin color or sexual preference. Customers have all the right in the world to protest businesses, 1st amendment and all. On the other hand if they use violence, physical destruction or harm such as vandalism they deserve time in jail and to compensate the business owner for any damages. If a company is willing to discriminate, its right as the property owner, it better be ready to deal with people talking bad about it and protesting it. Just as they have the right to say no to customers, customers have the right to say no to it and inform the general public of its actions. If a business can't withstand that kind of pressure then you might want to not discriminate over something so stupid.
What would you call someone that thinks a transgender individual is a crossdresser? Where do you start a discussion with someone this ignorant?
huh? the business made a choice, they let the world know what that choice was... they live with it they basically said we discriminate... not good for business .
Oh maybe its the fact that peoples home lives are inevitably going to come up at work. People talk about their families, girlfriends, boyfriends, in day to day life with their coworkers. This shouldn't become something to get them fired over.
Your statement is true for gays, too. They let the world know they're gay, then demand nobody notices.
zzz.... They didn't say they had no right to it, they said they didn't agree with it due to religious beliefs. Dude, the video interviews were all over the news, so for you to try and (predictably) assign "hate" to it, is stupid. Why do these loud minorities assign the word "hate" to anyone who simply disagrees ?! ffs
Lol... The GAYS went to the news. The GAYS called them with threats. The gays protested them until they caved in under pressure. THEN the news approached them for their side. Who in the hell would say "they let the world know". Holy hell.... nothing like spin to back the irrational militants. Yes, the business made the choice to close up that location and work out of their home instead, after the gays made such a huge uproar when someone disagreed with them. Tolerance in action ! And you should look up the reports before you claim it was bad for business. They weren't very big in the first place and they have had nothing but support since. Sorry.
The good news... the businesses in question are thriving since the uproar. It's surprising more don't try moral stances to boost sales!
It's 2013. Nobody gets fired for being gay. But somebody could get fired for making their sexuality an issue at work.
Seriously? What is wrong with you? Do you think sex is the only ting that is the difference between gay and straight people? If that's what you think, then I will not have any more to do with you. Yes, people ask me if I am gay or straight. That's what they ask. Now, if you want to play stupid, semantic games, count me out. That is childish and downright stupid. And yes, people do get fired simply for being gay. Look it up.
I don't believe I ever said shameful... I said unprofessional. Trannys make most folks nervous. This is not an optimal condition for eliciting sales in the bible belt... even if YOU think people shouldn't be uncomfortable sitting on the couch with that dude.
It's 2013, some states atill have sodomy laws on the books and are still trying to arrest people for it. It's 2013 and gay people are still being banned from adopting. It's 2013 and homosexuals still have to fight for their rights. Sorry if you don't believe but to bad.
Enforce dress codes that are unisex. I see that you used a pink frilly dress, would you even hire a woman wearing that?
That is sort of the thing... that hairy beast is going to look ridiculous in a nice dress. I must determine tranny fashion... and I don't wanna. You don't care about the rights of the business owner. If he was in nicer womens clothing I still can't send him out to interface the public.
Not sure what any of that has to do with gays being fired for being gay. I've been involved in personnel in corp America for a long time now and 20 yrs ago, employers knew they couldnt fire someone for being gay. Like I said, sounds like gays want special treatment, not equal treatment. Nobody is guaranteed a lifetime job except fed emps.
ENDA is more about lawsuits than civil rights. Obviously, everyone deserves workplace protections, but this bill is not the answer.
Not to mention that since 2010 no state bans gay adoption, and before that Florida was the only state to do so. They deal in BS and hyperbole becuase the facts dont support their silly views, so they make up their own.
And they claim it's just the radical extremists who want to stone the gays, heh. What strikes me as odd is that the gays are so busy trying to find fault with Christians, who if following the Bible, simply disagree with homosexuality, but love everyone..... that they don't know there are large anti-Christian populations out there who want to stone gays to death. Too busy shouting at Christians during their protests to hear what others are telling them.
