“Today Show” liberals show they have a child-like view of how the world works

One of the dividing lines between liberals and conservatives has always been the understanding of how economics works. Conservatives know how economics works; the force of supply and demand as well the true value of work. Liberals are like children who see the last twenty dollar bill in their mom’s wallet and say “Yippee, we’re rich! Let’s go to McDonald’s.”

Last week the child-like liberals dropped their “I’m-so-intelligent-because-I’m-on-television” masks and let us see how dumb they really are. Led down the path of stupid is as stupid says, Savannah Guthrie reported that a Minnesota restaurant has added a new line to its receipts which shows how much the customer is paying for the server’s new higher minimum wage. Guthrie explained that to off-set his anticipated $10,000 in new labor costs he had to add the new fee.

She quoted a Facebook commenter with whom she probably agrees, writing, “Look, if you can’t afford to pay your employees, then you shouldn’t be in business.” Does anyone doubt the commenter fully supports an unworkable minimum wage and probably has never made a payroll in his life?

its not that they dont know how the world works they have just been spoon fed this crap all their lives and lost the ability to think critically. most of them only speak about an event after learning the talking points from source. they have just become mouthpieces....broadcasting devices etc. for propaganda and spin.

its pretty simple when it all comes down to it. People start businesses to make money....even liberals. They hire and pay employees to help them make money. if you cant handle that then ....dont work and dont start businesses.

 

because the liberals primary goal is power, wealth etc through destruction and chaos where as conservatives primary goal of power wealth etc is through hard work and creation. they are polar opposites. the only reason liberals have been so successful is that its easier to destroy than it is to create.

Yeah I'm sure Savannah isn't a very intelligent person; you may not agree with her viewpoint but I'll bet Savannah Gutherie makes more in on day then you make in a year.

 

Mexico is a good example of what conservatives want America to look like, richest man in the world, 98% Christian nation, no safety nets, it's the republican dream, no wonder liberals are fleeing Mexico

How does what someone earns apply in any substance to their argument, unless you're arguing about who makes more. If Kanye West said the moon was made of custard and the earth was a giant blue berry and the reason the moon goes around the earth is because fruit is good in custard. According to your logic I would have to accept that as fact because he makes more than I do. That being said I have added about as much to this conversation as you have...very little.

 

Possibly. I'm retired on a fixed income but I'm pretty well off than most. That doesn't make her smarter or better than you or me.

And then the child like mentality is demonstrated further by the liberals when they are confronted. They respond in what psychology calls "the child reaction".

 

Well, if $8 an hour is enough to put your business on the edge of collapse... Yeah, you either are very poor at managing a business, or you aren't charging enough.

Plenty of other nations have higher minimum wages than we do, and they're doing just fine. Australia has a minimum wage of $16.87 AUD ($15.71 USD), and they're doing quite well.

 

It's not hatred. It's ridicule. Do you know the difference?

You'll notice that when you disagree with a liberal, they respond with hateful rhetoric and demand the person they disagree with be silenced. They try to criminalize disagreement as demonstrated by the administration and the IRS.

As a conservative, I prefer to make my point by showing how ridiculous the left's ideas are. Ridicule is a good way to do that.

 

Great question, and worthy of a thread. I think that the hate and aggression from the right partly comes from the fact that the world is changing in ways that they don't like, and they're frustrated at their inability to stop it.

The fact is, Paul Krugman is widely recognized as the greatest living economist... and he's a liberal. So when they say that liberals don't know how economics works (because they're like "children"), I can't help but be confused. Republican administrations have devastated the US economy, with Reagan and Bush increasing their deficits, and the public debt, far more than their Democrat counterparts.

The economic theories that the GOP loves so much have failed. They haven't only failed, but they've been colossal disasters. Two years after Reagan introduced his economic reforms (trickle-down intervention), came the worst recession in the US to that date. It wasn't until Clinton's administration that the deficit was actually reduced. Basically, it takes a Democrat to improve the economy.
