I don't mean to sound heartless. I just thought your post was some kind of racist statement. I apologize. I reacted without thinking it through.

That being said, we don't know what caused the killings, but there seems to be large amounts of background support to the idea that he killed them because they were Muslim. Even if that wasn't his reason, it doesn't justify it, and he should still be punished.

You are demonstrating his point. You dont know why he killed them and yet you define it as a hate crime.

 

Absolutely he should be punished. I just think there is a high probability he killed them because he lost his temper and acted in the heat of the moment. If thats the case I dont feel the man's entire life needs to be ruined because for a brief moment he lost control of his emotions. We are emotional creatures, and I genuinely believe this can happen to anyone depending on the circumstances.

 

It's unreasonable to think that a person would kill three people, each with a bullet to the head, over a parking issue. The guy fully intended to murder them in a planned event. If he had simply flipped out and starting shooting them he wouldn't have had the steady aim necessary to shoot each one in the head. When cops blast people their aim is so bad that they have to shoot multiple times before killing their victims. And they routinely practice shooting. This is a case for three first degree murder charges.

I do regret that they figured out what type of guy he was so early. I would have rather it had been a mystery all day so this thread could have filled up with Christian bashing or Tea Party bashing. There is already a twitter hashtag #Muslimlivesmatter. The early tweets are hilarious!

I doubt very highly that this guy would qualify as anything but a very conservative person, atheist or not.
