This is a racial statement and it is not the US or Israel that invents things. If you want to understand the science behind all inventions read a book written by a scientist named Jarred Diamond titled Guns, Germs and Steel. The book beautifully writes why some people could invent things and why others not. No race is gifted with better genetic elements to do something better and there are some others elements that have contributed to it. It is geographical elements not genetic elements or racial elements. This kind of thinking is bigotry.

 

Both the US and Israel are multi racial. What are you talking about. I said race makes no difference. Its the environment that counts. Seems we agree when it comes right down to it. Its the culture in the US and Israel that lead to them inventing so much.

 

The US maybe a country that is open for multiculturalism but I do not think Israel is for Israel have some discriminatory outlook since they have been more violent and aggressive. They are not dealing with their neighbors peacefully. There are holes in their psyche.

It is crap. Muslim science and technology was centuries ahead of medieval Europe and Mayans understood more about science and the universe than did "white people" by a thousand years.

 

It is curious that the OP fails to mention the pre-eminence of Jews in Europe in virtually every field of science, chemistry, biology, physics and technology up until WWII.

A valid claim could be made that national wealth and recognition of the value of education is what determines which nation has the most technological and scientific discoveries.

I agree, I don't think the US gets involved significantly without a very good reason.
I think our safety and economic pursuits trump global popularity though.

 

Popularity is different than credibility and trust. Economic pursuits are a function of credibility and trust when hegemony can not be forced.

For most of human history hegemony could be forced, although credibility and trust were still very important. If your economy went south you just attacked your neighbor and took his stuff. For the first time in history the game has changed such that economic trumps military on the global chessboard due to nukes. The return on investment for attacking a country with significant nuke capacity is negative to the point of ridiculousness.

The second issue (and this one is a normal cycle in history) is that the cost of projecting power has increased to the point where it is not worth it.

Technological innovation leads to military superiority which leads to economic hegemony. The problem is that technology spreads which reduces military superiority. A good example is the gatling gun.

The Brit's with one gunship could take over an entire African nation (fighting back with sticks and stones). Over time the African nation got the gun. Now you had turrets on hills to deal with. Instead of one gunship you had to send an entire armada (and you were going to take heavy casualties) and this is expensive. The cost of projecting power increased to the point where the return on investment was negative.

From the Roman to the British Empire. Both suffered the same fate and we are not learning from this history.

We can not even attack pissant Iraq without breaking the bank. The economic return on investment to the US as a whole is negative.

The real economic motive is to prop up the Military head of the Oligopoly-Bureaucracy fusion monster that runs this country.

This is not increasing safety. It is decreasing safety both by creating enemies and reducing our future economic security.

As I've learned from my time here, if you quote statistics, it doesn't matter if it's true or not, it means you are a racist. Granted, we don't make progress in fighting racism if we just call everyone we disagree a racist, but once the Progressives realized they could win arguments this way, the fight against racism got pushed back.

You see, if major media outlets weren't busy convincing poor black people that white cops are out to get them, then some poor black people wouldn't kill innocent white people, which then often creates more white racists, who kill innocent black people, and on and on the cycle continues.

I don't care which side someone is on, if you don't support body cams so when can find out when a killing is justified or racism, then you are a part of the problem.
