This Article says 42%. I may be a little off, but 42% is a shocking statistic. Why is it shocking? Considering that when people hear of the USA, they always envision a nation not only of high wealth, of also of well developed technology and science. Which is true. But with so many Americans believing in nonsense myths, I would have to say, the contributions of foreign born Scientists and Doctors to the scientific development of the USA are very significant.

Just look at what the japanese are capable of, you get the idea. And they were no more than medieval people just a couple of centuries ago. So are they to be considered a slow learning race or a fast one?

 

I beg to differ. The foundation of all technology that we use today came from white males. Nikola Tesla, the man who conceived of, and brought to fruition, AC power was an Eastern European from Serbia. Refrigeration was a big one--also the brainchild of Westerners. Western medicine, modern engineering, computer science, space science, even the simple combustion engine were all conceived by males from the Western World. As a white female I hate to admit it, but without white males we would not be the civilization that we are.

This will be the last time today I toot the white man's horn, lest they start to gloat and think they are supreme.

What Japanese cutting edge science or medicine do you urilize?

 

They do great on many fields of technology: cars, electronics, robotics, pharmaceuticals... for being a small country, they do very good. They came out of their middle ages much later than us, yet they are now among the best. How does it cope with the fact that they were so backward until their relatively recent transformation? If human races are to be judged according to their technological achievements, japan would score very high today, but they'd score low some time ago. Should we call them a great civilization or a lesser one?

To answer your question however .... India invented Math and bunch of other Stuff. China invented Gunpowder ... not sure about Japan but I am sure they invented something.

Well they invented the use of "zero" and the Arabs previously invented the sense of "zero" while the west could not carry out simple arithmetic because the idea of a value of zero did not cross their minds. Meanwhile the US is one of the few countries that still use the illogical imperial measurement system - the disastrous Mars project springs to mind. Why does anyone think that a measuring system based on 12, 36,1780,14,16 etc is more useful than 10 is beyond me - we have 10 fingers for a start!. Admittedly, I still find it easier to grasp a weight in stones and pounds instead of kilos, and temperature in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius but that is because I'm old.

 

Actually, much of modern mathematics originates from the middle east and northern africa. "Algebra" comes from the arabic "Al-Jabr", meaning "Reunion of broken parts".

Furthermore, geometry and engineering were basically invented in Egypt.

The problem with your statement is that it deliberately overlooks these incredibly valuable contributions to world knowledge in favour of pushing a racist agenda.

 

I am fairly certain the Egyptians and Romans were fairly accomplished in arithmetic. Evidence of their accomplishments abounds still.

The OP is just wrong because whites begun to be predominant in technology only in recent times. Right now i'm thinking of when phoenicians were an advanced civilization and the greeks inherited writing from them. Or to call out the middle ages, the europeans were quite barbaric in the dark age while middle eastern caliphates were pretty technological and accultured.

 

IQ isn't learned. School and teaching have negligible impact on it.

No, I wasn't joking. If you think geometry and physics didn't predate humanity, don't bother.

 

It's true before the 70's most Doctors were white, and then Nixon passed some health care legislation that lowered cost for the industry and it slowly ruined our system by allowing more foreign and minority doctors to practice.

Now we have Doctors who learned their practice on dirt floors in foreign countries, or are under qualified from affirmative action policies.

It's not racist or sexist, it's just a fact privileged white men are naturally going to be better at things than others. I've personally experienced the transformation of ethical white doctors to highly unskilled, unethical Doctors that some don't even speak English properly. This doesn't mean women and minorities can't compete, it's just a system that rewards failure rather than good judgement and solving the root of the problems, in the name of political correctness.
