27 years Federal time definitely qualifies as a long time.

The US Attorneys declaration that today is a bad day for hackers I think kinda funny. I mean they get ONE guy.. Who's efforts reaped him directly 10s of millions of dollars with other bad guys making 100s of millions? Don't see any of them arrested or monies seized yet..

The reward versus the risk is too high in favor of more of these shenanigans I'm afraid.

40-70 $ can not save Muscovy, even 100 ...its too late for all oil-rent economics . KSA, Muscovy, Nigeria, Venezuela , Algeria, doesn't matter

Maybe Trump can get Russia to handover the 3 dozens other hackers they refuse to prosecute in Russia. Russian govt is a criminal organization and needs to start playing ball with the rest of the world in locking up these thieves. The only reason they got this guy was he was caught outside of Russia.

Yeah, judging from I've been seeing in Venezuela, it is turning upside down! But that's what happens when you put eggs all in one basket and hitch your economy to a volatile commodity. Here's a country with near perfect weather year round for food production, great for tourism, huge energy reserves, but no food, medicine, fuel, even toilet paper with people flooding into Colombia and brazil for help?? Sad.

Yeah true, there's tons of criminals the russkis harbor. Gun runners, hackers, war criminals, anyone with a "cause" almost against the west!

I strongly disagree with that statement, but approve idea of cooperation between governments on many matters. Though I still insist, that no state-sponsored interference from Russian Federation took place in the latest USA elections.

This is only the beginning. Cybercrime is yet another area the rest of the world is going to clash with Russia. The cost to other countries are in the billions, and the Russian underground is responsible for much of this.

Imagine how much might have been done to RF enterprises. And for other countries' enterprises, but NOT by RF citizens. Sure, crimes comitted through hacking on Internet should and likely would be getting solved better - but that certainly does not means there will be any sort of "clash".

Russia is going to have to do more to help fight against cybercrime, especially if you consider it's rumoured the Kremlin used the "Russian underground's" services during the US election.

The cost to ordinary people trying to make a living is enormous in keeping up to date with the latest software... continuously trying to plug the holes hackers use to breach. The legal ramifications if your site is hacked and you are responsible for other people losing their details, and lost sales when the site is down due to DOS and then to clean the whole thing up again. When you mess with people's livelihood you are definitely heading for a clash.

Yeah, and seems many here dont seem to understand this, and while the Russians are exploiting this, it leaves them open to the same practice their using on us!

Common, if Russians intervened in US elections or whatsover, it is good. Let US feels how does it look like when other countries intervene in their internal affairs as this is always done by US. No compain is accepted from your side on this matter.

Great, now that's established! We can continue overthrowing more govts in your backyard, let's see, seems, Belarus is a prime candidate for destabilization, the people there seem somewhat disgruntled with batjka Lukashenka, Minsk would be great base for NATO? Kazakhstan is another, Uzbekistan perhaps since karimov died now?

How small it takes to bring somebody joy - just an opportunity to exchange pleasantries.

For fuсk's sake, get yourself a videogame and just do it whole day, instead of finding excuses in politic discussions.

It even got a russian character that you can insult about his country, all day long.

Well I don't know, seems he's cooled off from being chummy with putin from recent events in Ukraine, and it seems he's not all that fussy about the Russians building a bigger base in Belarus anymore, Putin's putting the squeeze on and there's resistance, sanctions, trickle down effect, and young people disillusioned? Seems like a recipe to me?

Oh, yes, but that's hard US$$$ currency, that may be a big boost to the local economy?but then you will have not only US troops, but Brits training there, also Germans? Ouch, Germans with guns, bad memories maybe?
