I've got a few buddies just up the road at the 15th MEU. We go shooting on occasion. They all seem to enjoy sunny San Diego, and I've yet to hear any one of them bitch about all the fun we have when we do go shooting.

I guess your mileage may differ.

All the soldiers I've ever known, myself included, made it a point to make the best of what ever duty station Uncle Sam deemed fit to send us to.

One person, who self identifies as a communist, is advocating banning firearms. That's not even half because a communist isn't a Democrat no matter what Fox News tells you what to think of us.

To be truthful, they are more my wife's friends (she retired out of there). Still, I don't hide my politics. They all know exactly where I stand, and could care less as long as I bring the beer and burgers.

 

There has never been a single case brought to ban and confiscate every gun in the USA. Link it if I am wrong.

I'm too busy enjoying my life to worry about another State's gun laws. NHL Playoff hockey is far more important than California's gun laws. Sorry if that upsets you Darlin.

The district of columbia attempted the same argument to justify their complete prohibition on handguns. The united state supreme court ruled that, even if shotguns and rifles are still available for ownership, it made absolutely no difference in the matter. Even though the district of columbia pointed out that handguns are overwhelmingly used for criminal purposes, their prohibition on such was still unconstitutional under all standards of scrutiny. They then ruled the exact same thing for the city of Chicago.

As things are presently in the united states, the some twenty thousand firearm-related restrictions that have been codified into law, are not being enforced at all. Felons who are found in possession of a firearm are not facing prison despite the possession being illegal. Firearm traffickers are being given probation for knowingly supplying firearms to prohibited individuals who went on to murder law enforcement officers.

As things are, the firearm-related restrictions in place are not being enforced, and thus they are serving no reason to even exist. If they are not being enforced, they should not exist. Use them or lose them, it is that simple of a concept.

 

No thanks, my gun is discriminated against there. I wouldn't want to get arrested for not having bullet buttons on my rifles.

The Constitution and the NRA are two of the only reasons we still have our firearms, but they will do everything they can, including breaking the law, to disarm people.
