Thread fail. A person threatening to murder another person can't legally follow through with their threat just because the person they are threatening fought back. The person threatened with murder has a right to self-defense from the murderer. The murderer can't claim self-defense so they can legally kill their victim.

When I was in the Army, when I was the company clerk of a large Battalion, the distribution went very high. While I did not see how a president read all the daily reports from so many Army groups, had he wanted them, he sure could get them.

But this is not a simple issue such as a promotion. The man was charged and convicted of murder. I think that means that such news was made to Obama. Do you truly think Obama was in the dark over such a high intensity crime?

The crime took place in 2008. Would you think Bush was not aware of this?

 

On what do you base that claim? Do you think the President, as the Chief Executive, is personally involved with the parole process of every Federal prisoner in the Justice Department's purview?

Being "aware" and having authority or control over the process are two entirely different things.

 

Everyone has the right to self defense. If the terrorist had killed the LT self defense would have been a good defense.

 

So a murderer is allowed to legally murder a person if they claim the person they were going to murder fought back? So no one really has a right to self-defense against murder. The only person with rights is the person who initiates force.

The unarmed prisoner Behenna murdered would have been able to argue self-defense BECAUSE HE WAS DEFENDING HIMSELF AGAINST A PERSON THREATENING ILLEGAL MURDER. The person threatening murder doesn't get a legal right to kill just because the person they tried to murder fought back.
