They won't have to as long as they live under Palestinian rule and behave themselves.

A study carried out by the Pew Research Centre found that around one in five adults questioned “strongly agreed” with the controversial statement, which amounts to ethnic cleansing under some definitions."CONTINUED

    I don't smoke - anything.

If they both put down their weapons and Israel gives back Palestinian land there will be no more violence in either Palestine or in Israel.

    **** Assad, the mass-butcher.

    Golan should stay with Israel.

Barely anyone lived there before 1967 anyways

most of Israel was State Land befere 1949, not private land.

and much of the private land was owned by absentee-landlords in Turkey, Syria and Lebanon.

The Palestinians merely leased the land.

thats why the British and Jordanians were desperately trying to register plots of land to their inhabitants, so they wouldn't be screwed if someday someone asked for proof of ownership.

too bad they did a shitty job.

Stolen land, appropriated land, purchased land, what's the difference? Jews must be eradicated is a predominant thinking.

It could happen. The question is, what can Israel begin doing today to prevent it from happening? They have forced so many Zionist recipients onto occupied territory and uprooting them won't be an easy task. I suppose those settlers will have to be pawns in one more game .... the next one with the Palestinians at the advantage instead. And the pro-Zionists will be blaming the Arabs for sure!

By the way, this fellow Dutch is wrong when he says …..
If the Arabs put down their weapons today the last square inch of Palestine will cease to exist tomorrow.

according to an anti-Zionist UN report, most of the land in Palestine before 1948 that was not state land, was owned mostly by the Ottomans and a few wealthy Arabs who did NOT live in Palestine:

Consideration of the systems of cultivation and land ownership in Palestine shows that most of the land was under the control either of the Ottoman government (Ottoman fiefs) or Turkish nationals, or of a minority of the Palestine Arab population, most of whom lived outside Palestine and had interests that did not conflict with those of the occupying power. The members of this minority group are even said to have made profit sales of land prior to and immediately after the First World War.

according to an Israeli report that opposes the Occupation and the settlements, most of Palestine was unregistered land before 1918. The Brits and Jordanians started registering land to the resident farmers, but as the UN report states that was mostly unsuccesful for many farmers:

To understand the mechanism of land seizure in the West Bank, one must go back to the political history of the region. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the West Bank came under the successive rule of four different powers: the Ottomans, the British, the Jordanians, and the Israelis. Each left a legal and administrative trail behind them, the implications of which play a significant role in today’s legal reality. Since 1967, Israel has made use of Ottoman legislation dating back to the middle of the 19th century in order to declare land to be “State land.” According to that law, all lands are considered "State Land" unless proven otherwise. To formally register land as private property, one must cultivate it for at least ten years. If the land is not registered, one would be considered the owner as long as he cultivates it and pays taxes on it. If the land is not cultivated for three successive years, it may become the property of the Ottoman State, i.e. "State Land". Israel has also exploited the fact that during the Ottoman period only small parts of the land of the West Bank were formally registered to a specific owner. During the 1920’s, the British began a process of registering the land to the farmers who cultivated it or residents who owned houses that were built on it. This process continued throughout the Jordanian period.

While the Palestinians were indeed citizens of Palestine and legal residents with the right to return to the state, that idea that ALL of them owned the land where they lived, is simply false.

You only own land when you BOUGHT it, inherited it from someone else who BOUGHT it, it was registered to you, or you can prove that you cultivated it uninterrupted for at least 10 years and payed your taxes.

if its not registered to you, and you dont cultivate it for 3 years, the land becomes State property.

You are absolutely right about that. Look what happened to the West Bank when they agreed not to fight for justice. Netanyhu fought the election claiming he was going to annex a great deal of the West Bank. The Israelis care nothing about justice, they care nothing about law and they care nothing for anyone who is not a Jew. That is why Israel is only a nation state for Jews. Her Arab citizens are just there till she can find a way of cleansing them.

Western Leaders have lost all morality in the way they deal with Israel - and really Israel have 9/11 to thank for that. Certainly the UK Labour Party were determined to stop the US stopping the two state solution coming in before that.

Really what we see in Israel now is an extreme right wing state growing in religious extremism. That will not suit many Jews.

Israel believes destroying Iran is key to it being the dictator in the region but this article suggest Iran may be the winner. ;)

The idea that Israel could cease to exist in a couple of generations (as Ben-David believes in your link) sounds outrageous but it isn't impossible.

Look what happened to the Third Reich. Where is it? It is gone. And why? Probably several reasons why but one similarity to Israel is the ”never back down” - ”never retreat” - ”never compromise” - ”continue to forge ahead taking ever more, and more, and more.”

The further you go the less likely you can return to square one and the more likely you will make enemies who will never forget and will be less likely to make any compromise themselves such as agreeing to a two-state coexistance with the Jews. Like Hitler said, “Total war”. Winner takes all. Israelis have no back-up plan and when their back is against the wall the only thing they can do is slip back into the Diaspora. The Zionists had their chance (A HUGE CHANCE!) but they got greedy. They are destroyng the Jew's best oportunity they have ever had.
