I'm thinking about what the GOP is going to look like post Trump, given the current state of the GOP, methinks it would be only a shell of its former self.

He's the House Minority Leader. You should know this, he's on TV a lot. Why do you ask? ( He's not mentioned in the OP, as far as I can tell, nor in the article linked to, but, not mentioned, he did ask AOC to accept Yoho's apology. ).

 

Considering Dems are supporting rioters and demanding Trump stop putting pressure on the rioters to stop rioting I would suggest that the bold part apply to Dems.

Ah, TV. I haven't watched that in some time. My point was that I haven't seen him mentioned much. So, I thought he was a little known politician.

I guess that's the downside of algorithm-generated news. It only shows me topics it thinks I want to view.

Anyway, the Dems have Pelosi and Schumer. They really know how to get the Democrats in Congress to vote on the issues. Their counterparts on the Republican side are McConnell and McCarthy. They don't seem to be in control. But, what do I know?

If you don't watch TV, then Read one of the 'journals of record' rather than depend on a feed, and there are four, pick one and subscribe, they are "Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times and the New York Times". and if you want to go deeper, you'll have to do some homework, sites like Propublica, foreignpolicy, etc.

In any case, lets just assume for a moment that you're correct. That the "peaceful protestors" outnumber the rioters. Why are they letting them riot? Why aren't they stopping them? BLM proclaims that they can do a better job of policing their communities than the police. Yet they can't stop these rioters? Pfft.

I have no doubt that there are many peaceful protestors. Not everyone are ******bags. No matter what political spectrum or ideology you have. But have you ever noticed that the times there are peaceful protests the police and feds don't actually do anything? That the riots happen at night and that is when we get all the stories about police supposedly abusing their powers? Now I'm sure you'll probably bring up Trump and those protestors that were gassed for a photo op. That's not a very good example though. The protestors were told to move back prior to being gassed. They refused. Their right to protest wasn't denied, they were just told to move from the area that they were in. Something that is often done. If they had moved then they wouldn't have been gassed.

The protesters have not been shy about expressing their hatred and disgust with the Democrats. They were chanting for the Mayor to resign just yesterday. They have been at this for months now. To be clear, are you are down with wiping out the Democrat leadership in Oregon and replacing it with Communists.... and by any means necessary? People don't have to deeply follow politics to decide for themselves what the word "peaceful" means to a liberal, or whether such people should be allowed to run our country. Plain 'n' simple.

It takes a peculiar blindness to skip past repeated photographic proof of these riots to continuously claim "peaceful protest." People don't have to be poly-geeks to get it. By now these claims cannot possibly be true. Too much evidence exists to the contrary, and you don't have to even THINK of liking Donald Trump to first admit what is there in front of your eyes about the violence.
