Which is a celebration not a protest but yeah if they say they are Irish American they get half a vote.

Not a thing and as stated in the OP its just a moral victory to make these people say they are Americans if they want a full vote.

My idea is politically impossible but it does express an opinion I think many in this country hold. Are you an American or not? Enough with this hyphenated crap.

Funny how it’s ok for one to be a US citizen but also be proud and identify with being of Italian, Irish, Polish, Russian, Japanese, etc heritage. But as soon as someone, who is a US citizen, is proud of their African or Mexican heritage then it’s an issue. Go figure!

Trump is a German-American, does that make him half a President and his votes worth half?

for the 2016 election he changed that, prior to that, he did have dual citizenship

A fact he was unaware of and when he did become aware of it he immediately rectified the situation.

Shouldn't the OP have started out with "I'm not racist but..."

Don't dismiss it as being impossible. I really like the idea of weighted voting.

I am open to suggestions. We already have the EC which gives extra weight to smaller population states to set a precedence. I am open to a system where everyone votes are weighted differently. It can be open to debate but I would suggest things like education level, income, net worth, age, occupation type, constitutional knowledge, taxes paid etc... So maybe someone that serves in the military get a +20% weight added to their vote, someone that pays a lot of taxes gets extra weight based on their tax bracket, create jobs get bonus points etc... The more you do for society the more your vote counts.

When Irish American march in St. Patrick's Day parades and carry the Irish flag are they not 1/2 American?

When police departments have bag pipes playing at funerals are they not saying that they are not full American?
