In 2016 they forbid President Obama's nomination for SCOTUS to get a vote, or even a ****ing hearing!!! 11 months before the election!!!!

They declared that NO President should be able to select a new supreme court justice in a presidential election year.

But now, not even 2 months before the Presidential election, the Republicans have done a completely dishonest back flip, declaring that a President can now select a new supreme court justice during a Presidential election year, NO MATTER how soon the election is!!!!

How should Democrats respond? Grind the Senate to a halt. Many Senate matters require unanimous consent, and they should provide none.

However, if the Republicans are somehow able to have hearings and a vote, the Democrats should make this 100% clear: if they let Trump select a supreme court justice mere weeks before the election, then if the Democrats win the election they will STACK THE COURT with 2 more Liberals!!!!

this doesnt have to happen. The Republicans can stand by their very principled stance from 2016, and let the next President choose the scotus judge.

The majority almost always changes "the rules" over the minority. All they have to do is move the goalpost to rationalize it.

By 'galvanize' do you mean 'radicalize'? Because those terms are interchangeable apparently.

 

AS IN- expand the number of justices to 11. Then, Trump can nominate new conservatives to fill the vacancies.
IF the democrats had a principled stance, Trump probably would wait. However, the discarded all their principles the day that Trump announce he would run, and we haven't seen any sign of them since.
