i think it’s a responsible rule but i think it was nice to throw a bone to the dems...sadly you all are ungrateful and. now have flipped flop for a third time

Bullshit and you know what there was no such rule.

It was simply an idea and McConnell took advantage of it to justify his theft and dishonesty

And now we see just how dishonest McConnell is. He is truly scum.

Funny how no one ever mentioned anything called a "Biden rule" until 2016

Majority of Americans APPROVE of SCOTUS. Link

Vast majority of Americans DISAPPROVE of Congress. LINK

Majority of American's DISAPPROVE of Trump. LINK

So, in order, Americans support SCOTUS over Trump and supports Trump over Congress.

If you stack the court like you suggest that will lower support of SCOTUS because right now SCOTUS is seen as fairly apolitical. Stacking it will show that its become strictly political. Do you really want a SCOTUS approval to drop to the likes of Trump or worse, Congress? Do you have ANY idea what that would mean? The People will no longer have any faith in our government. None. When that happens then a civil war WILL inevitably happen. Whether it comes from the Right or the Left won't matter. Because it won't be about Left or Right. It will be about abolishing the current government in order to institute one that is more trustworthy. And you may not like how such a government is formed or is led by because it may very well become a dictorial form of government.

History has shown this to be true. Hell, its the main reason that the original 13 states rebelled against the British. Just read the Declaration of Independence for evidence of that. Or look to what happened in Ireland to cause the Irish Civil War. History is replete with governments being over thrown. Not all of them due to invasion, but invasions were able to succeed in part due to local squabbles.

There never was a "Biden Rule". It was never voted on. It was never actually proposed.

And of course since there never was one, Moscow Mitch can safely ignore his fantasy rule.

But once this happens..should Dems gain the White House and Senate...they would be completely justified in expanding the Court

Would that upset you? Sounds a bit irrational to me. How about you just go out and win elections.

never said you said they couldn't

I am just saying it's pretty sad that repubs created this rule 4 years ago to deny Obama the pick, then when it's a republican they remove the rule - sad

Trump worked very hard during 2018 to not only maintain the Senate majority, but was actually able to help increase the Republican numbers in the Senate.

So the most recent election validates the reality that Trump's campaigning efforts in 2018 now support his ability to send a nominee to the Senate for confirmation.

So much impotent rage. If the Dems had controlled the senate in 2016, I guarantee they would have approved Obama's nominee and if they controlled the senate now, they would be stonewalling the hell out of Trump.

As for packing the court, just remember turnabout is fair play. This can really be summed up as "hate the game, not the player".

You mean like the near iron clad control Dems had for near 7 decades after FDR's 3rd term? Most of the worst ideas foist upon the American people were brought to us be legislation but by judicial activism.

I'm sorry for laughing but the minute I heard that Ginsburg had passed, my first thought was Trump should wait until Nov.4 to make a decision. Listening to the insane reactions I have seen coming out of the left has completely changed my mind. A tidbit.
People favor confirmation hearings for Supreme Court vacancy in 2020: Poll
    snip,
A new poll conducted shortly before the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg revealed that an overwhelming majority of U.S. adults of all political stripes supported holding hearings for a nominee if a vacancy opened on the nation's highest bench.

Marquette University released the survey results on Saturday that showed 67% of adults believed the Senate should hold a hearing if a vacancy occurred during 2020's race, with only 32% opposition — and similar strong numbers across Republicans, Democrats, and independents, who supported holding confirmation hearings at 68-31%, 63-37%, and 71-28% respectively. The poll was completed three days before the death of Ginsburg, the 87-year-old liberal icon who was nominated by President Bill Clinton and confirmed in 1993. Ginsburg earned praise from Democrats and Republicans upon news of her death.

And then we have this which is my personal favorite and likely one of the usual suspects posting here.
Warning explicit lunacy and language on display.

But.........McConnell made it clear in 2016 and is reinforcing the notion once again........Repubs believe there are no "American voters" any more. Just Dems and Repubs.
Regard for honor, tradition, the founding principles on which the nation was formed, the will of the majority,.......these are quaint relics of the past. Trump only knows contempt for such things. If Dems continue to pretend otherwise they will be crushed.

The time has come to put the big boy pants on and do what McConnell would do. Find a way to use the power of the majority, which he does not have, to annihilate the POT by whatever means are necessary.

Stack the court. Abolish the EC. Reform the Senate to stop the disproportionate representation of red state voters. Bring the will of the majority to bare on the country with absolutely no regard for the wishes of the minority.

The majority put the GOP in charge of the Senate...and then expanded that majority in 2018....the will of the people is for the GOP to be making this choice.

Your laundry list of wishes that will undo the protections in our Constitution from tyrants, will require Constitutional amendments....you will not have the support fo do that...to fundamentally change the United States.....
