So, how does this teenager get his hands on weapons that can cause so much carnage? Police reports indicate that he was arrested in 2020 and had a shotgun taken away from him because he was identified as suicidal and a “dangerous person”. And yet, he’s still able to get more weapons...??

And yes, criminals will always get guns. Many gun deaths in the US are committed by people who, prior to that one act, were not criminals. Martin Bryant, the man who slaughtered 35 Australians back in 1996, was an otherwise law-abiding citizen...

There are speed limits, but do people abide by them? Nope. Millions of people break the speed limit every single day. You're supposed to have car insurance, but do some people abide by that? Nope. There are thousands, or tens of thousands of people running around out there without any vehicle insurance, etc....

So, we have considerable access, and misuse that approaches zero.
Thus, your "availability" argument holds no water.

But we do place restrictions on who may buy a car in the first place. We also place restrictions on the characteristics of the vehicle and how it may be used.
