Nearly three weeks ago, hundreds of middle-aged QAnon fanatics gathered in Dallas to witness the return of John F. Kennedy, Jr. This group believes that JFK Jr. and many other deceased celebrities — including his father, President John F. Kennedy — are not only alive, but part of a decades-long plot to take down a global pedophile cabal that secretly controls the world. Despite multiple no-shows from the former George publisher or his charismatic dad, dozens still haven’t left. In fact, one of the JFK Jr. truthers — a rapper by the name of Pryme Minister — offered the use of his property just outside Dallas, and the group’s Telegram chats indicate some of them have been living communally for weeks.

This QAnon group in particular is led by a popular conspiracy theory influencer named Michael Protzman, who has prophesied the Kennedys’ return, and organized these gatherings, the latest of which took place on Monday, the anniversary of the assassination of JFK. But this time they’re not the only JFK obsessed conspiracy theorist in Dallas. Just a few block away, at the Magnolia Hotel, about three dozen people gathered for the Ninth Annual JFK Assassination Conference, three days of discussions about the latest evidence and theories regarding autopsies, CIA informants, and links to 9/11.

It's not an invalid assumption that Qanon people would be Trump supporters. The conspiracy theory originated with Trump as the hero of the story. You're certainly not going to choose to believe in that brand of nonsense if you see Donald Trump for who he actually is and realize he could be none of the things the Qanon people think he is.

RS is a decent magazine, but the National Enquirer, of whom Trump wondered why they weren't awarded a Pulitzer for their reportage of the Ted Cruz's Dad being in on the JFK assassination, is a tabloid.

RS pretty much showed what journalistic integrity - or complete lack of same - they had with "A Rape on Campus". They have NOT changed since then. And I hate to break it to you but it was the National Enquirer that broke the story regarding Rush Limbaugh and oxycontin. The NE is more committed to investigative journalism than RS, mostly because the NE cares far less about partisanship than RS does.

I also find it highly dubious that, as you say it, "all" of the JFK conspiracy guys are Trump supporters, especially since the conspiracy theories started well before Trump even became famous.

I think the proper response is "So what? Who cares?" Heh - nah, you deserve a better answer than that.

I mean, the NE also ran stories about W hitting the bottle. Heck, look HERE and that's just for starters. Point is, the NE will report against almost anyone almost anywhere. I was actually stunned when they pulled some stunt FOR Trump - it's way outta character for the NE. Bottom line is that RS has far better production values but they start off with the assumption that their PC values - and the politicians that follow them - are correct then run from there. The NE for the most part doesn't care who they nail so long as they nail someone. Do you really believe for one second the RS would go after Biden with the same zeal they went after Trump? And they shoulda gone after Trump but they should go after Biden too - and refuse to.

I'm not saying that the NE actually doing better investigative journalism than RS is a good thing. It's actually a pretty sad indictment on the state of journalism today. But heck, the NYT makes up stories outta whole cloth - it can't be trusted at all and it usedta be as close to the Bible as you could get from a human publication. Now it's just a partisan rag and a joke. And - getting back to the RS - once their full-push propaganda "A Rape on Campus" revealed that they don't care about the truth so much as they care about pushing an agenda, the RS became basically useless as a news source, or indeed any kind of source at all.

I still rather doubt that the JFK conspiracy nuts are all Trump supporters. I imagine there's some overlap but I have yet to see any proof that "all" - or even most - of them are.
