The more I hear about the land down under, the more sad and disappointing it becomes.

20 years ago I would post my personal info and know a couple guys who still do on other forums. I cool wit it if da man asks to voluntarily post up names and addresses. If anybody wants to come to my little slice of Detroit to find me I strongly suggest doing so during daylight hours. Things happen to out of towners around here when the sun goes down.

That is what is throwing me for a loop here. I asked why would she be cool with being treated like a hooker (except hookers get paid). She said that she was abused by her father and abuse is all she's ever known. I tried to explain to her that she (nor I or millions of other people abused as children) did not have a choice when we were kids. We not only have a choice as adults, we have a responsibility to not add more toxicity to our lives and the lives of children we bring into the world or project it on other people who aren't responsible for that inner pain.

Even weirder than that. I know exactly when she's lying to me and she knows that I know but she still comes up with these outrageous back stories to justify her crazy behavior. I'm not nosy at all so I almost never broach the subject. I already know the first 1 or 2 versions are TOTAL lies and bits and pieces of the real events get peppered in over several weeks. Last year, she missed one day of work. This year, she's missed 18 and counting.

Here are the funniest ones...(it's actually all pathetic but you know what I mean).

"Oral sex isn't sex." I told her that only she and Bill Clinton use that alternative.

"I have not had a guy over in a while." (I reminded her that she told me her neighbor was there three days prior. She said "That's *a while* to me."

"I am just friends with those guys. Why can't I have friends." I told her that she shouldn't befriend other men because she doesn't know how to not try to force them into a relationship and gets upset when they reject her for a steady relationship. I also pointed out that she was just lying to herself about that or she would seek out "friendships" with women too.

"I never thought in a million years that he would do <whatever craziness> to me." I told her that makes no sense whatever. She isn't taking the time to get to know these men so she can't speak to what they would or would not do.

A few months back she told me that she forgot to pay her car note. I didn't say anything. She told me last week that her internet service is back on. I wasn't aware it was off and she said that she forgot to pay the bill last month. We have the same Wi-Fi company and they don't turn off service for one missed payment. I didn't say anything but I am 99.99% sure the real issue is that she's been sending money to men. And, the dumbest part is she had to file bankruptcy a few years back because she was sending various men money. I don't even understand how it's possible to not learn *anything* from one's mistakes. NONE of it registers in her head.

She gets upset with me because I don't trust her any more. I told her that was her problem. That's what happens when you lie to people - they have no reason to trust you. Furthermore, she will raise her hand and swear on her kids, grandkids, etc.. She also gets frustrated at me because she can't manipulate me. A few months ago, I called her on her BS (in a gentle way) because I'm not going to play let's reinvent history with her (or anybody). She blurted out, "Well, since you don't believe I've changed, I'm going to go out this weekend and see how many guys I can get to <censored> me!!!" [Yes, she missed the irony in that.] I texted back "Good luck." That ticked her off but that's not my problem either. When you says stupid stuff, you should be prepared to hear stupid stuff back.

Act like an adult, mind your manners, have some self-respect and treat me with the same respect I give you = We're all good. Otherwise, take your chances and deal with the fallout. I'm a child abuse survivor that CHOOSES not to keep the dysfunction going so she's out of her league trying to play me.

Never underestimate the lefts ability to add Trump into any simple conversation. Some folks are hung up on food, others booze, others sex, others Da Trumpsta.

I ordered a few items online a few months ago and my checking account was hacked. The odd thing is that I used my credit card to pay for my purchases, not my checking account.
My daughter said if they have one little bit of your personal info, it's easy to get more.
I will not be ordering anything else online. Even though the bank reimbursed my money, it's still a pain.

Yes. It happens quite a bit. I'm assuming you are out of harm's way now. If so, I'm happy you're okay.

I thought my post was clear about former President Trump. His actions have lead to various people associated with election boards and poll workers being harassed and threatened at their jobs and sometimes at their homes. Former VP Pence has had to move his family many times to hotels and with family and friends because of harassment and threats since the Capitol riot.

Nobody should be threatened for doing their job.

I'm not quite clear if you mean real first names or our whole names.

I already use a username that is as close to my real name as possible.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I would recommend that you sign up for a PayPal account. That way, your private bank information is secured and you can pay the third party through there so they never get your account numbers or other identifying information. I've heard that Google Pay is safe but I've never used them so I can't speak on that.

My identity has been stolen twice. A woman went into the hospital for a hysterectomy and I got all her bills. I was able to prove it wasn't me so no real harm. Years later, a guy went to Best Buy and bought close to $4,000. I didn't know anything until I got a call from a collection agency. The guy ticked me off because he was yelling and swearing straight out the gate. I told him that he needed to throttle back. He didn't so I hung up on him. He called me back with a better attitude and I was able to get the details. The part that was annoying is I did my own detective work and found out where the scammer lived and worked and gave all the details to the police and they still didn't do anything about it. I have always had excellent credit so I only cared that both of those outstanding debts were removed as they weren't mine.

Thank you for the info about the PayPal account. I will check that out.
Sorry you had those 2 identity theft issues. The internet is such a blessing in some ways. It's a shame that criminals use it the wrong way.

Well, James, you've earned a gold star. Three guesses, no cheating.

Guess who showed up for work this morning with two black eyes?

She's a good employee and I hate to fire her but I'm not riding this crazy train. This is all levels of toxic.

I was meaning whole names. YouTube is requiring whole names now.
I notice that I am the only person who voted yes in the poll. People have given several good reasons why it's not a good idea for PF.

I walked away from politics after interning in a political office in college. I am just now (about 18 months) trying to sort it out because I have children. That is neither an excuse or justification, but, as of right now, I don't have any knowledge of Democrats harassing anybody and I've never heard of anybody working elections being threatened.

I'm also not an R or D. I would not condone that type of behavior from anyone or toward anyone and the letters behind the people's name don't factor into the equation for me. For example, I don't like Trump for a myriad of reasons but I've always been willing to consider whatever solid evidence he has about widespread election fraud. To date, I haven't seen anything that supports that claim. Also, I'm not a fan of Pence (mostly because he's been too close to Trump and some of his evil might have jumped onto Pence) but the man and his family should not have to live on the run because he upheld his oath to his country.
