Who's been responsible for the last 200+ years in the US? Us. You. Me. Joe Blow down the street. Ms. Mary on the corner who's headed to the library. Every single adult is responsible for informing themselves. It's a part of being an adult. It is not up to anyone else.

And you are entirely entitled to your opinion of government - right or left. I'm just one to sit back, pay my taxes and then throw my hands up in the air. I expect to see returns on my investment (taxes). And I'm okay with this kind of action going through. I do, however, want to be sure that it is apolitical and balanced. I want TRUE disinformation that is dangerous to our society to be sought out and squashed - whether that is coming from the right or left.

And do you actually expect it to be apolitical and balanced when it is coming from one side of government from one party?

Please tell me you know better than to trust the government like that?

No one should, call me old fashioned but I believe people should have the good sense to be able to figure it out for themselves.

Sadly, that used to be good enough, pre Idiocracy....

If you people would hold up your end of the bargain, perhaps we could return to your Mayberry RFD-land

    See post #279

The disinformation techniques have gotten better, and the general population has gotten dumber, so times have to change...

I have little confidence the dummies will comprehend it when any disinformation is debunked, but it's gotta be done.

Who's gonna do it?? You, Lieutenant Weinberg??

Lord. The arrogance dripping from your post is so deep I need my hip waders. Do you really think such snark helps at all?

I'll do it for my own self because I'm not an idiot who needs the government to think for me.

Do you actually trust the government to do that?

The government will try a Disinformation Board... I prefer good old fashioned snarking when I spot disinformation....

We'll see who gets the job done first.... I suspect we'll both fail and the blind will continue to lead the blind...

Don't worry I'm sure someone will keep you safe and shielded securely away from any information that you may have to consider for yourself

I said I WANT it to be apolitical. And we should hold them to that. But I'm not under any illusion that it can't be corrupted.

Yeah, you're seeing returns on your taxes. Joe is sending $33billion to Zelensky. Is that a good return in your opinion?

That you are OK with government telling you what is true and what is false is very old news indeed. Got Fauci?

Actually, I'm okay with Joe sending the money to the Ukraine. They need it more than we do right now.

I also just saw a piece on a community in Texas who are turning out in droves helping the Ukranian refugees that arrived through Mexico in the last month. I find that heartwarming, but also very curious. But that's another subject.

Liberty and constitutional governance both die to thunderous applause.

When everything the American people believe is false, we will know the success of our misinformation efforts.

You think a provable fact doesn’t exist?

K, math is all subjective. I can’t wait to tell the store owner that my $20 bill is a $100 bill, and when he tells me the facts don’t support that, I’ll tell him you said facts aren’t a real thing, mmmmmkk?

I made no reference to ‘facts’. Define ‘provable fact’. Then, again visit Heisenberg’s uncertainly principal… a cornerstone of quantum theory. Also, lookup the concept ‘confirmation bias’’. It’s something scientist struggle, without complete success to eliminate.
Think you know facts? What is red? Does the sun always rise in the east? Think race determination is empirical? Can any life survive in the vacuum of space?

To the post modernist, neo marxist there are no objective facts, only our perception of them. They are all about the narrative to shape those perceptions.

K, not clear what you mean. If we can’t agree that 2+2=4, we will never agree on anything.
