After the Bryant murders (35 dead) there haven't been any assault rifle style mass shootings. Drownings,
domestics, fires etc. aren't what I am talking about. It's hard for Australia to have AR15 style shootings
when we don't have AR15 style firearms.

Yes and I realized the shooter was mentally sick for doing it.

Yep. One knife. I don’t make stuff up like many here do.

    From 2021.

    And:

Been going on for a long time. From 2010.

    2018

    That’s a small sample…

However long it takes for officials strengthening a school's structure, and leave the doors secured.

It's already unacceptable, you and I just have different solutions.

One day you'll run out of things to ban and the kids will still be at risk.

So I can therefore assume that they don't give a damn about human life...while, of course, pleading making abortion illegal because they care about human life.
These people are all over the place, utterly inconsistent , full of parroting self righteous diktats without thinking about contradictions in their convictions.
ISTM you can't change your appalling death rate if you dont want to.
    It is that simple.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think caused firearm violence to spike a few years after stricter controls in 1996? If registration and restrictions are the only factor in firearm crime, why such wide swings under the same laws?

Also, why do handguns still account for 40% of offenses?

Using this link for context, how can firearm offenses be increasing if law has not become more lenient? Why would firearm offenses increase in the US and the UK at the same time when the laws are so different?

    https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopula...useoffirearms/yearendingmarch2019#main-points

Certainly enforcement of laws is beneficial. We have laws against straw purchases. It’s 10 years prison and a $250,000 fine.

But here is how we enforce the law. By prosecuting 0.01% of offenses!

    https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-new...d-despite-crackdown-on-illegal-guns?_amp=true

Then there is the Hunter Biden incident where he lied on a 4473 about drug addiction. No charges. Lots of shenanigans on that firearm.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/news/5...ice-push-back-on-hunter-biden-gun-report/amp/

    https://www.dailysignal.com/2021/04...te-law-in-buying-handgun-3-big-questions/amp/

I couldn’t care less about the Biden drama except to show we aren’t serious about enforcing laws we have now. I can’t see how adding more would be helpful at this point.

Also, the federal government is not capable of registering all these weapons. In 2020 there was talk about adding all “assault rifles” and standard magazines to the NFA. I pointed out the impossibility of such a move in this post.

I don’t think Mao’s gun culture is at all comparable to US gun culture. I don’t see millions being forcibly starved in the US. Or feds shooting masses of citizens in the back of the head. Or state sanctioned rioters massacring political rivals.

I’ll stick with US gun culture with all it’s flaws thank you very much.

I see that you're still spouting this rubbish. From your list, one victim being murdered is not a massacre or mass killing. Which bit do you not understand?

Only one way to find out. The life of just one child is worth the effort. It sure is worth far more than humouring people championing for the sheer hell of it, having a gun in the household toy box.

If you are refering to the Cultural Revolution then I don't see the connection with gun control.
About 80 million people were murdered or starved to death as Mao warred against culture,
the past, Capitalism and private property.

You replied to my post 638, how banning full auto is somehow constitutional, so I don't see the problem to lower the bar to semi.
You failed to argue against it. So I can only conclude you are conceding.

True, and it also doesn't specify what arms you may have. The bar is set at full auto to be a no. I don't see any reason why it must be up that high. I also see no obstruction to a hell of a lot better background checks, and raising the minimum age. That too would comply with the constitution. You might wonder why the age for drinking it at 21 in the US, but the use for deadly weapons is yolo.

But I can tell you why the age for using deadly weapons is a joke.
It's because gun manufacturers are able to sell their goods to kids = more profit.

HAVE YOU SEE THAT FAMOUS JIM JEFFERIES COMEDY ROUTINE?
Australian Comedian Perfectly Sums Up Why Other Countries Think US Gun Laws Are Crazy (filmsforaction.org)

Australian comedian Jim Jefferies was the victim of a home invasion once. He was tied up and beaten, and his girlfriend
was threatened with rape. So you might think he'd sympathize with the idea that Americans want guns to protect their
families. Quite the opposite — he does an excellent job of summing up why so many foreigners are baffled by America's
    gun culture:

In Australia, we had the biggest massacre on Earth, and the Australian government went: "That's it! NO MORE
GUNS." And we all went, "Yeah, all right then, that seems fair enough, really."

Now in America, you had the Sandy Hook massacre, where little tiny children died. And your government went, "Maybe ...
we'll get rid of the big guns?" And 50 percent of you went, "**** YOU, DON'T TAKE MY GUNS."

He continues with a blistering smackdown of the idea that Americans seek guns to keep their families safe:

You have guns because you like guns! That's why you go to gun conventions; that's why you read gun magazines!
None of you give a **** about home security. None of you go to home security conventions. None of you read
    Padlock Monthly.
None of you have a Facebook picture of you behind a secure door.

The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals sees a constitutional obstruction to raising the age limit.

Age isn't mentioned in the constitution. So it's just an opinion of those who got voted in to be the judge of it.

Neither is RESTRICTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES on firearms mentioned in the constitution.
Australians have more guns than they had when firearms were restricted after the Port Arthur
Massacre. But now you can't have 'assault' weapons, and you have to go through rigorous
licensing. Our rights are still there - but we weeded out many nutters, and stopped lunatics
walking around with machine guns and body armor.

    And it got results!

The thing is that the US somehow sells it's the only country in the world and got no idea how to solve gun violence.
While a dime a dozen countries are out there who already made an effort and got results.
And the American "exceptionism" is just a theme to come up with idea's to sell more weapons to more people.
Because the gun manufacturers must sell more and more, not less.
