And again, Democrats have their speaker
Republicans are the majority party — it is their job to vote for their speaker.

It’s laughable that you think Democrats should be the ones ignoring their constituents but the Republicans are not at fault.

    Democrats have 212 votes, y’all have 124.
    217 votes are required

So who in their right mind can manipulate this to say 93 Democrats should abandon their voters to vote for a right wing lunatic but not even think maybe 5 Republicans should do the right thing and vote for a relative moderate?

    How interesting

Republicans run on the platform of no government and zero policy. No one expected them to have a plan outside of BLAME DEMOCRATS

Absolutely, both Gaetz and his 7 morons along with the entire Democratic caucus are all idiots prioritizing their personal political goals rather than having any kind of a realistic plan to having a functional House.

If you understand this then kudos to you for being the first Democrat (correct me if I’m wrong) to do so.

Everyone's a moron to you; which essentially means nothing, like the rest of the LooneyQ nonsense in this thread. McCarthy sunk his own speakership (<-not a word) when he agreed to one member being able to call an up-down on his tenure.
I don't need anything to prove you wrong. :)

Gaetz didn’t have a plan. The Democrats didn’t have a plan. The rest of the republicans didn’t have a plan.

Yet, Gaetz and the Democrats voted to blow up the speakership anyway with no plan. How stupid indeed.

Credit the rest of the Republicans for not being stupid enough to vote to remove a speaker with no plan!

Pffffff, crucial began the day Biden took office.. If you really want to be honest, crucial began the day we the people took a side supporting political corruption and started blaming one another for it happening while financing it/them.

So Democrats conspire with a few republicans to blow up the Republican house and if the Republicans don’t rebuild it in 30 seconds it’s all their fault for not doing their jobs.

I don’t know how many ways you can twist, repackage and mental gymnastics the same BS about votes not mattering but looks like we are all going to find out!

I love the people who want to pretend this is no big deal . . . when it is happening before our eyes. No one has done more to try to overthrow democracy than Trump has, and he still leads the party . . . a party trying to take things even further.

Polls indicate your ploy isn’t working and even Fox News is saying it’s the fault of Republicans

    But yes, let’s watch.

IF the "rest of the republicans" had a clue then there would already be a new republican speaker. McCarthy's ouster is proof positive the "republicans" haven no plan, cannot govern and are incapable of finding a way to do their job ... which, it appears ... they aren't even sure of that.

He said, she said; he said, she said, he said, she said...

...while the elite take all the money to the bank.

Divide and conquer, the oldest and most effective strategy in the political playbook.

This system is rotten to the core, so stop bickering and start doing your part to create the new [much less corrupt] system.

Its been said many times; OUR “system” of government IS terrible it just beats whatever’s next, hands down.

It is NOT rotten to the core, it has created the most successful, most powerful and wealthiest society … EVER!

It’s time for Americans to stop fighting each other and unite to demand our government works for all if U.S.

Exactly what isn't corrupt at the moment? We need to clean out the rot and replace it with people dedicated to freedom and family.

If you just completed a negotiation and came to an agreement, then the person/group with whom you've been negotiating goes straight to a microphone and throws you under the bus, how trusting are you of that person/group? Would you feel confident ever dealing with them again?

This is pure comedy. Get those standing in the middle of poverty, crime and feces saying "The Republicans are trying to ruin our country!!!)

The best part of their plan was to get the Democrats to create poverty and reduce the quality of life for those they claim to care about.

Well it's your claim that EVERYTHING in our government is corrupt. So it would be up to you to prove that. But, hint; absolutes are most always NEVER true. Frankly what I know about our government is that most people working for our government are working hard at their jobs ... FOR U.S. Politics and politicians if corrupt are corrupted by money, big money from pac's enabled and created because of citizens united.

From my perspective, the Constitution is THE greatest document EVER written by men for mankind. The answer to America's problems is IN the Constitution and in ALL Americans putting aside bullshit factious politics and working together for true government by the people.

Well, that Repubs, and those on the right like yourself, are blaming Dems is more proof they are unfit to govern.

Besides. I can think of a number of reasons your position is pure bunk. To name a few:
    • Historical Precedent: Traditionally, the minority party does not contribute to the opposition party’s vote for Speaker, nor are they expected to. What is expected is that the majority have a leader who can gain the confidence of his or her conference. You sure as hell can't blame democrats for your side's failure to find a speaker in which your conference has confidence in someone to lead the house.
    • No Concessions to Democrats: Despite initial talks of a potential deal, McCarthy ultimately refused to offer any concessions to the Democrats, leading to a united front against him. Hell, we might have come up with a deal of some kind, TO WORK TOGETHER. But, no, y'all don't want that, eh? And you have the gall to blame Democrats?
    • Catering to Extremists: McCarthy was criticized for catering to extremists within his party during his tenure as Speaker.
    • Institutional Damage: McCarthy’s attempts to placate hard-right Republicans in his party were seen as damaging to the House as an institution.
    • Government Shutdown and Debt Ceiling: McCarthy’s decision to introduce a stopgap 45-day Continuing Resolution (CR) instead of adhering to the terms of a 99-page bill he had previously agreed upon with President Biden was seen as a reversal of his commitment. This bill was designed to prevent a debt ceiling shutdown and limit government spending. His maneuver, which came on the heels of a potential government shutdown, relied on Democratic votes after a faction within his own party refused to back the House GOP measure.
    • Impeachment Without Vote: McCarthy faced criticism for launching an impeachment inquiry into President Biden without a vote in the House, a move seen as controversial and not universally supported even within his own party.
    • Lack of Principle: McCarthy was described by Rep. Abigail Spanberger, a Virginia Democrat, as likely being the most unprincipled person to ever hold the position of Speaker of the House.
And,. to add insult to injury, just before the vote, McCarthy goes on TV and badmouths dems and now he expects us to vote for him, after he starts an impeachment inquiry without evidence and without a vote?

Traditionally each party votes for whom they want. Dems would easily vote for Jeffries. He wouldn't win a majority, but we are not blaming Republicans.

However, Jeffries has stated that he is willing to offer himself, in a bipartisan (power sharing) leadership if some 10 or more across the isle are willing to vote for him as leader. If you on the right are responsible, can't find a leader in your own ranks, then vote for Jeffries, and things will get done. That y'all on the right are unwilling destroys your argument.

But,. of course, as you, and many like you, prove, over and over and over again that Republicans are not capable of governing, which was the point of the OP.

Get the following 'through your head':

    NEWSFLASH:
No democrat Speaker would have ever agreed to allowing one person to put forth a no confidence motion, Dems put a higher bar on such a chaos impacting move. Had McCarthy had the competence to require a higher bar, we would not be having this conversation.

Well, that Repubs, and those on the right like yourself, are blaming Dems is more proof they are unfit to govern.

Consider the following...I am a physician and although I consider myself a highly ethical practitioner, I operate in an incredible corrupt system essentially run by corporations and their lackeys in the government. No matter how ethical I am, I am severely constrained by those who CONTROL EVERYTHING. Yes, I might be able to limit the damage, but 99% of the decisions have been made before I ever see the patient.

The conclusion must be that the entire health care system has been corrupted except those frw who can operate completely outside of corporations that control nearly everything.

You can't refute her points, which are in depth, and documented.

Republicans want a 'unitary executive theory' of presidential control

That's proof they pay lip service to the constitution and are much closer to fascism than democracy.

Hell, they are going aground poo pooing democracy as we speak. There are videos on YouTube on this dumb idea. I hate to put it to you but either you are for democracy or you are for fascism. There is no in between, either we are moving to more democracy ore more fascism (the hole 'America is not a democracy, it is a republic' is a stoooopid argument. These are not mutually exclusive terms). It clear which direction Republicans are moving in the direction fo fascism, via the UET.

    Hell, you probably believe it.

You know damn well we are right and you have no counter argument.
