all well and good but it doesn't explain why us taxpayers should fund people who agreed to pay a loan back and allegedly cannot due to their own poor choices

Not soon enough in K-12 schooling and often not in sufficient numbers.

They're being overcharged for liberal arts degrees. How about not overcharging and not forgiving their loans in the future?

18-year-olds? Young people led to believe they have the talent to complete a university program in the sciences?

18 year olds enlist and die in service to this nation. If you can sign that contract that might cost you your life, you can sign a loan and live up to its terms. It's not kids who get STEM degrees who are defaulting on student loans at high rates

Of course not the goal is no longer to educate it is to indoctrinate and make people hate each other and if possible themselves.

The goal of public education in the U.S. has always been to indoctrinate.

Your claim the goal is now to "make people hate each other" is MAGA propaganda and an unfair attack on teachers generally.

Generally maybe but the few teachers who aren't on board especially in grade school which are not infrequently feminist hell holes where not infrequently there isn't an adult male in sight and the staff is not infrequently womyn's studies and gender studies majors and full on marxist is where the damage is done and future attitudes set.

Let’s get real. We live in an instant gratification culture. For many of us dead Americans are an acceptable tradeoff to maintaining the convenience —easy access—to firearms.

Absurd, if one is going to effectively deploy fire arms in defense one is going to spend a lot of time training the exact opposite of instant gratification. Instant gratification and the fact that many dems can't seem to find any is what is driving the far reaches of the left.

"On board" for what? Schools are run by elected school boards. Are you saying teachers are defying their employer?
Because elected school boards and state governments are not doing their jobs?
You have some screwy ideas about public education, none based on any reality I witnessed in decades of teaching.

That was your point. My point was that law enforcement has no obligation to put themselves in harms way to protect you, therefor arming yourself is your best move.

I would appreciate you not playing games with your snarky replies.
"Their" sure is. You tell 'em. Your defense for biological and nanotech weapons is what?
    That's your second disingenuous comment.
Deciding what we do to help people put out of work permanently is Nazism?

It's more along the lines of the police not being everywhere rather than them running away.

That means we are responsible for our own safety and that the right to bear arms should not be infringed.

I know what I have seen and read and I know what schools were like when I taught and it is different now. Suffice it to say that American schools were competitive at every level before the Dept of Education came into being under J. Carter, who is now the second worst president ever behind Biden, And now they aren't and rather try to find out why they are dumbing down the tests and teachers are jumping on the band wagon with the noxious idea that learning is a white thing never mind that after the fall of the library at Alexandria one of the largest libraries in the world could be found in the capital of the Songhai empire in West Africa.

So you think a high school graduate can't understand a simple loan agreement that they read and sign?

Schools are better now than they were before Carter.
Right next to LA City schools... https://www.pvpusd.net/

The median home price is over $2m--these folks have money and they're not going to send their kids to lousy schools. Palos Verdes is conclusive evidence we can do better.
    Sounds like MAGA nonsense.
    Your point is what?

The Library of Congress is fantastic today. It's not far from Alexandria.

Then why are test scores in comparison to every where else so much worse?
Rich folk don't send their kids to Public schools.
That meme has been around before anyone ever heard of Maga.
The point was that learning is a human thing it is not relegated to anyone race or even point in time.
