They then violated it and entered into an agreement with France to create French colonies in Lebanon and Syria and British colonies in Iraq, Iran, Jordan, and later what is now Yemen, Oman, UAE. France created colonies in Algeria, Morrocco, Tunisia as well. Chad and Niger also became French colonies. Sudan. Egypt and Libya were to be British affiliated. So in fact the original Arab League of Nations of all these mentioned Arab countries were French and British colonies and then immediately after WW2, thousands of Nazis fled to these countries and in fact ran the governments and military of Egypt, Syria and Iraq.

In fact what Churchill explained and what is now public domain is Britain and France lied. Britain had no intention of allowing an Israeli Jewish state and decided to lie. He skips that Jordan was carved out of 90% of the land that was supposed to be a Jewish state. He then deliberately ignores that from the creation of Jordan to 1967, any Palestinian who was Muslim automatically was granted Palestinian Jordanian citizenship.

In fact the day before World War Two broke out the League of Nations called a meeting to dismantle Jordan as an illegally created Muslim Jewish free state. The war broke out and the League ceased. After World War Two with the exception of Eleanor Roosevelt the High Commissioner of Jewish Refugees for the UN the entire world turned its back on Jews (except France and the US).

In 1948 the Jewish Zionist Federation then met with the UN and agreed to split in half the remaining land NOT illegally seized to create Jordan. So they agreed to about 4.5% of the remaining 10% of land promised them. In fact the Arab League controlled by France, Britain and ex Nazis stated under no circumstance would one inch of land go to a Jew for a country and so declared war against the Jews in Palestine to wipe them out and failed.

The Arab League with full support and whose armies were led by British and French military officers and ex Nazi officers unilaterally attacked the Jews in where Israel is today with the express intent of killing them all off. As for Gaza it was never part of any nation. It was created by Nasser of Egypt as an open air prison for those Muslims Nasser felt refused to war against Israel. He locked them up in a strip of land called the Gaza Strip not to be confused with Gaza City an Egyptian city.

Palestinians are not victims. They were offered the choice of a second state in Gaza and the West Bank and refused this offer saying they could never except anything but a Muslim state where Jordan and Israel are and currently stick to that position/

The UN Security Council just voted to pass a ceasefire resolution. Granted, it is non-binding, but the US Abstained, allowing it to pass. That is huge. it was 14 for, 0 against, with the US abstaining.

I think we should have learned by now that it is not possible to stamp out terrorism with force alone. It isn't a matter of kill the leader and top generals and the threat is gone. Nor is it a matter of kill all Hamas fighters and the the threat is gone.

Once Hamas is gone, what's stopping it's successor from forming? You need to win/placate the hearts and minds of the people and avoid radicalizing more into being future terrorists.

The PR war is even more important than the military war when facing terrorism. Avoid dehumanizing Palestinians, minimize collateral damage, stop government officials from making statements of hatred against Palestinians calling them animals, stop settlers from moving in, screen but allow in aid swiftly, etc. Do what you can to help them, make overtures saying you support them and that Hamas is their enemy and not Israel, and fewer will be driven to support Hamas-next.

Fail to do so, and you ensure the rise of Hamas-next and more dead innocent Palestinians and Israelis. It shocks me how brazen Nettenyahu's ministers are in their speech dehumanizing not just Hamas but Palestinian people generally.
