I may be wrong, but it seems to me that a backroom deal was worked out for Iran to attack Israel to save face. All the players involved approved the plan. Iran told the world a week in advance they would attack Israel. Biden told us the attack was coming. So much for a sneak attack. Now Iran sent slow flying drones and cruise missiles towards Israel of which 99% have been intercepted by the USA, England, and Jordan. So much for retaliation by Iran. Now Iran can say they retaliated, and Israel doesn't have to attack Iran because no great damage was done to them. All's well that ends well.

    That's a reasonable hypothesis.

My first thought was that Iran is getting uncomfortably close to a nuke. The strike on the Iranians in Syria by the IDF was carried out in order to cause predictable retaliatory action by Iran, which could then be justifiably answered by destruction of their nuclear program.

I hope you are right and I am wrong. Yours seems to be more plausible. We shall see.

'In a daring April 1 operation, the Israeli Air Force killed Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Gen. Mohammad Reza Zahedi, who played a central role in the planning and execution of Iran’s proxy Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack. That savage strike killed 1,200 Israelis and foreigners, including more than 30 Americans, and led to the kidnapping of more than 240 hostages. The IAF killed Zahedi, another top IRGC general and five other IRGC commanders who were planning operations in an IRGC-Quds Force building adjacent to Iran’s consulate in Damascus, Syria.'

    Trained terrorists
'Zahedi was a big fish. He led the IRGC’s operations out of Syria and, as the main Iranian contact with Lebanese Hezbollah, had helped arm and train Iran’s most dangerous terrorist army.'

'Hezbollah has been exchanging fire with the Israel Defense Forces for the past six months and possesses more than 175,000 missiles, rockets and mortars including deadly precision-guided munitions that could do devastating damage to Israeli civilian infrastructure.'

Seems like some posters here want Israel to just play defense and normalize direct Iranian attacks Israel.
the IDF cannot only play defense. It will be under pressure to respond directly to Iranian aggression with its powerful air, naval and cyber capabilities. If not, this could normalize Iranian direct attacks against Israel. This may also be an opportunity to attack assets connected to Iran’s rapidly expanding nuclear-weapons program.

'The Islamic Republic has been at war with Israel for decades. But Iran’s supreme leader now has crossed an Israeli red line that he may come to regret.'

    Joe Biden's Dangerous World

'In the past three years, the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan, Russia invaded Ukraine, Hamas invaded Israel, China increased its pressure on Taiwan, the China-Russian partnership solidified, Houthi terrorists wreaked havoc on Red Sea shipping, Iran moved closer to obtaining a nuclear weapon, North Korea enhanced its intercontinental missile capacity, China and Russia modernized their nuclear forces, and illegal immigrants flooded the U.S. southern border.'

And now we have direct war between Iran and Israel.

I will now summarize the war.

    "Don't"

    "Did".

Israel will not put their tail between their legs and hide -- they have nuclear weapons and will not go quietly into the night. They will survive, whatever it takes. As long as the Muslims keep picking at Israel there will never be peace.

EVERYTHING IS GOING SWIMMINGLY: Top Iranian Pentagon aide keeps security clearance despite spying for Tehran.

“She was previously a key aide to the suspended Iran envoy Robert Malley, whose secret ties to Tehran sparked congressional uproar.”

    She still has security clearance.

What is this weird slavish devotion that Obama and Biden have for Iran?

'An Iranian-born Pentagon official is to keep her top-level security clearance despite being named as part of a covert influence campaign run by Tehran'

'Ariane Tabatabai was a willing recruit in the covert influence operation run by Tehran’s Foreign Ministry.'

'Since early 2022, Tabatabai has been chief of staff to the Pentagon’s assistant secretory of defense for special operations and low-intensity conflict, Christopher P. Maier.'

Is she registered as a Foreign Agent, or do we only enforce those laws to folks connected with Trump and not Biden/Obama/Clinton?

I don't know if it was orchestrated in a backroom deal, but it is a reasonable hypothesis that the Ayatollahs retaliated to save face, knowing full well that they can't really do damage to Israel, let alone the US. Luckily, nobody was killed. Otherwise we would now be in a full-fledged war between Israel and Iran, something that Bibi has been salivating to get the US involved in. Hopefully, the Israeli response will also be measured, but we will see. One should never underestimate Bibi's lust to stay in power through perpetuating conflict.

    THE DEEP MEANING OF “DON’T:”

'Would that President Biden had not warned the Iranian regime not to attack Israel with his pitiful “don’t” yesterday. In Bidenspeak, “don’t” is an invitation. It something like the shout-out for contestants to “come on down” on The Price Is Right.'

    2022 Biden to Putin - "Don't. Don't. Don't."
    2023 Biden to Iran - "Don't. Don't. Don't. Don't."

Watching Biden being escorted off the stage if very much like watching Biden's Band of Idiots try to manage foreign policy. They are long past their sell date.

If the countries now follow "the plan" both sides can claim victory. And the US congress will quickly follow up with an aid package for Israel, and we can sell more replacement drones to Iran. I seem to remember back in Oct Biden released $6 billion to Iran.

The problem is they also tossed in ballistic missiles. I also very much doubt Israel is going to cut any "backroom" deals with Iran or anyone else that involves any hostility of any kind towards Israel.

I am expecting Israel to retaliate with overwhelming force.

And apparently Israel has stated that, because there was very little damage, they won't retaliate.

It is a very weird scenario that was painted here. It doesn't even make sense that Iran would actually try to attack Israel. It does smell like it was all staged. At least at this point. However, it's too early to know.

I might even bet that your theory is correct and buy myself some crypto.

Did Joe Biden Green-Lit Iran's Attack on Israel?

'In a stunning yet somehow unsurprising turn of events, evidence has now emerged that Joe Biden didn't just know about Iran's attack on Israel, but that he went so far as to green-light it through back channels.'

'Iran informed Turkey in advance of its planned operation against Israel, a Turkish diplomatic source told Reuters on Sunday, adding that the US conveyed to Iran via Ankara that its operation must be "within certain limits."'

Can you imagine if some nation was preparing go attack the US and we had an ally tell them that it was ok, within certain limits?

Israel would probably be best served by letting some time pass, and Iran get the idea that no response is coming, and then launch air strikes against their drone, missile, and nuclear facilities.

And do NOT alert the Biden Administration in advance.

American Anti-War Activists Cheer for Iran's War

'At a left-wing conference in Chicago, activists believe Iran is ‘part of the arc of resistance because the enemies are Israel and the USA.’'

The same people who hate the Jews, hate America, Donald Trump, RFK, and their supporters.

'anti-war activists crowded into the basement of the Teamsters Union’s headquarters on Saturday to hear organizers from all over the country describe their plans to disrupt the Democratic National Convention this August. Joe Biden’s backing of Israel since Hamas’s October 7 attack has turned these left-wing radicals against their own party.'

“It’s really inspiring to see that people are just as enthusiastic, and maybe even more enthusiastic, to march on the DNC as they are to march on the RNC,” says Omar Florez, a Milwaukee-based activist. “We can thank Genocide Joe and our movement for that.”

'But then a man stumbles to the podium, wiping sweat from his forehead. He grabs the microphone to announce that the Islamic regime of Iran has launched missiles and drones heading straight toward Israel.'

“They believe that they will be in Palestinian—I don’t call it Israeli—airspace between two and four a.m., which means about two to four hours from now,” he says. “In addition, there are reports of drones having been fired on Israel from Yemen and Iraq.”

'The crowd, all wearing black N95s, erupts into applause. Someone in the back lowers their mask to send a celebratory whistle soaring throughout the room.'

Hopefully not. That would be stupid if they did. Now is the time for negotiations and bringing all this nonsense to an end.

This isn't a minor border dispute.

HAMAS has declared that they will destroy Israel, it is their reason to exist.

This is a fight to the end; either Israel and Israel supporters or HAMAS and HAMAS supporters must be destroyed.

Anything short of that will just mean more violence in the future.

I think Israel will respond by completing the destruction of Iran Proxy, Hamas, in Rafah.

How Woke Leftists Became Cheerleaders for Iran

'We can now see the anti-Israel bigotry behind their phoney pacifism.'

'How quickly the ‘Ceasefire Now!’ lobby turned into frothing warmongers. No sooner had Iran began its criminal bombardment of Israel than these phoney peaceniks were leaping up and down with delight. This is ‘true solidarity’, said one ‘pro-Palestine’ group in response to Iran’s raining down of missiles on the Jewish State. We can now glimpse the truth behind their fake pacifism. We can see their yearning for war on Israel that they cynically dress up as a campaign for peace in Palestine. It’s not a ceasefire woke Westerners want – it’s the humiliation and taming of the Jewish nation.'

The same people who hate the Jews, hate us, on the US Right.

'And what are our self-styled radicals saying? The kind of people who’ve been clogging up the streets of LA, New York, London and Berlin these past six months to wring their hands over war? They’re not saying ‘Ceasefire Now!’, that’s for sure. In fact, some are saying ‘War Now!’, or at least are making craven excuses for Iran’s attack. A member of the International Committee of the Democratic Socialists of America went so far as to offer ‘full solidarity with Iran as it retaliates against the Zionist entity’. From solidarity with Palestine to solidarity with warmongering Islamists: it’s so clearly hate for Israel, not love for peace, that motors these people.'

'Asa Winstanley, the oddball who runs Electronic Intifada, described Iran’s attack as a ‘humanitarian intervention’ – it’s like Blairism with a Marxian veneer – and said ‘THANK YOU IRAN’. The Palestinian Youth Movement praised Iran for daring ‘to take action to bring an end to genocide [sic]’. The Palestine Solidarity Alliance at Hunter College in New York City offered Iran ‘solidarity’. A professor at California State University said ‘Iran did what all Arabs could not do’ – that is, teach uppity Israel a stern lesson. The cry for peace has morphed into sympathy for war – if it’s war on the ‘Zionist entity’, that is.'

'Sympathy with Iran is spreading like a pox through social media. Some of it is coming from the toytown revolutionaries of Gen Z, the kind of people who have the Pride flag in their bios and think men can breastfeed. They seem suicidally unaware that Iran hates them, too. Indeed, in recent months privileged radicals have chanted in support of the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen, a movement that recently executed 13 students for ‘spreading homosexuality’. Seven were stoned to death, two were crucified. The activist set is so blinded by hatred for Israel that it is even prepared to turn a blind eye to the crucifixion of gays. So long as the men driving the nails into the hands of these homosexuals are Israel-haters like us, we’ll forgive them.'

It will be interesting to see how Israel responds. Israel said it will. So, I guess the Iranians better get ready.

If Israel responds with a missile barrage of their own the best thing that could happen would be for the US, Britain and France to shoot down Israel's missiles. That would put an end to the malarkey and salvage their credibility as Peace keepers.
