It was not added to the bible, the translation of the Greek word (arsenokoitai) (which has always been in the bible) is homosexual.

Arsenokoitai has no direct translation out of Hebrew. If it does mean homosexuality why did no religious text say so prior to the 30’s?

So the specific verses I’m referencing are verses 11 and 12. I provided the preceding verses to show that the context is in reference to marriage.

Now Jesus talks about three different types of eunuchs.

1) Eunuchs born thus from their mothers wombs
2) Eunuchs made eunuchs by men
3) Eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heavens sake.

I’ll explain the last two first since the verse in question is the first example. Eunuchs made eunuchs by men are the traditional meaning of eunuch. Someone who has been castrated, usually in order to serve as a servant or guard for a woman. Eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heavens sake is referring to those who choose to become celibate in order to remove that temptation from their life in order to see heaven.

Now we get to the first eunuch. The eunuch born thus from his mothers womb. There are only two options that I see here (if you have another please present it). Either he’s referring to men who are born without genitalia. A condition exceedingly rare even today and almost unheard of back then. Or he was referring to homosexuals. People born without the attraction to the opposite sex. While this was uncommon it was certainly not unheard of. Unless you believe he was talking about people born without genitalia (in which case I’d be inclined to ask you to present your argument) then the only other option is he’s referring to homosexuals.

And what does he say about them? He says it is better if they do not marry. Now this brings me back to the context of the first verses. Jesus explicitly defined marriage as being between a man and a woman. Two men getting married was unheard of and impossible in the sight of god according to Judaism. So Jesus was making the argument that those people who are made eunuchs by men, those who choose to be celibate and those who are homosexual should not marry someone of the opposite sex. Which ultimately means they should not marry at all.

 

That is a ton of assumptions that does not condemn homosexuality.

I have no idea what he was referring to by “eunuchs born thus from their mothers wombs” — I am not arrogant enough to believe my guess justifies assuming what the Lord spoke . Good to see you don’t have that issue.

To the institution of marriage, the moment it became a legal contract it falls out of the purview of the church — there were a few passages about following law also… It does say a ton about adultery and divorce.

So from that message that doesn’t specifically mention homosexuality (you just assume it) and does mention adultery and divorce numerous time, you take from that gay people should be condemned but the other should receive your vote and praise…

No. Anyone who commits divorce except for sexual immorality is committing sin. Just like the homosexual.

As for assuming what Jesus was talking about, he was clearly making a point. He wasn’t just speaking superfluously. Asserting he was referring to homosexuals is the only logical conclusion. Furthermore it is in concert with the other biblical teachings which denounce homosexuality.

There are lots of passages in the bible condoning Homosexuality.

 

You want hateful preachers in order to justify your own hatred and vitriol. But actually they are few and far in-between. Preaching that homosexuality is a sin is not hate.

And before you slam religion take a hard look at atheism. It seems to be capable of nothing good. It has not built societies or great cultures. It's "nothing" and creates nothing. Those great atheist nations don't exist. It acts more like a parasite within societies of religious peoples that have already established rule of law (law largely based on biblical values) established freedoms and a strong society. Atheism doesn't have a track record. Religious Nations are at war because because religion is crucial to a nation existing at all. Unless it is a totalitarian nation...which aligns well with Atheism.
