“Belief in America as the "Indispensable Nation" Is Bullshit—And Always Has Been

Country's that have things like taxpayer funded college, healthcare for starters.

 

They are mine as well, but in case you hadn't noticed progressives have replaced the exact term equality with the more nebulous term equity.

 

That's their "progressive values of social justice" at work, baby!

Why do discussions about America's failings elicit this kind of reflexive response from conservatives?

 

Since we are the only ones currently available to lead in the fight against humanity's totalitarian instinct we have to lead. But that behooves to manage two things, fist that we not become the disease we are trying to combat and second that we be damn careful where we choose to lead.

could that be why they call it "meritocracy?" college is wasted on a bunch of drunken frat boys.

 

Less than one percent of college students nation wide belong to sororities and fraternities.

 

Before we jump to the conclusion that the lesson to be learned from the failure of the Afghan Government is for America to bring ALL of our troops home and beccome a fortress nation there is an equally likely lesson to consider. What's happening in Afghanistan can be an example of the chaos that could overcome the world if we abandon our mission of keeping peace. Several years ago I read a paper that explored a world were after War 2 we retreated and became an Island Nation. It was a long article and I only remember the message, Susinctly, it's highly likely it would be a Mad Max world if we had done that. And at a cost to U.S. much greater than we have paid by being out there.

After the war the United States alone was untouched and we needed to step up and enforce peace. Yes, now that most nations have recovered it's time for them to help out and share the burden. But only a FREE America governed By the People is prepared and has the experience to lead the way.
