Sure you do, you either hand it to the polling worker in person who runs it through the tabulation machine or as I do do it yourself and yes I get the confirmation from that machine which has been checked and rechecked with test ballots with representatives of both parties and any independents and the local election officials there to monitor it is accurately recording and then they are rechecked afterwards. You don't even know if your ballot made to a polling place is what you are saying and even if an envelope with your name on it arrives whether that is really your ballot inside. You lose control of your ballot the second you give it to a mail carrier, I never lose control of mine.

 

I normally end up dropping it off. I guess this kind of paranoia is required to be a republican so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
What confirmation do you get? Do you see the vote totals for each person and measure change after you put it in?

Each state has its own procedures. I doubt any of them do what Trump suggested.

It's not illegal to check to make sure you mail in vote was received and if not then go to the polling place and cast a provisional vote. If the mail in vote is then received before the final acceptance day then depending on the state either the mail in will count of the provisional you cast will count and mail in discarded. I guess not being informed as to the laws and how it works is seen as a virtue to some. I even cited one of the NC election officials saying to do exactly that.
