First, I don't belong to the tea party but that was the premise of the Second amendment. Second, the framers of the Consitutiton are the ones that said it first, go argue with them.

""The intent of the Bill of Rights, as a whole, is to limit the power of the federal government. "Congress shall make no law…" Remember that phrase? ""

""Gun control advocates also maintain that this is a different world than the one the framers of the Constitution knew. Yet these men knew that the world would not stop evolving. They lived in momentous times and they knew that things would continue to ‘progress.’ That’s why, when they wrote the Constitution, they drew upon all their wisdom to create a living document, one that would speak for the ages to come, one filled with universal truths that would never change – freedom, liberty, and tyranny""

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." - Thomas Jefferson, June 1776

"Americans need not fear the federal government because they enjoy the advantage of being armed, which you possess over the people of almost every other nation." - James Madison, The Federalist 46 (1788).

"And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the right of resistance? Let them take arms...The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants." --Thomas Jefferson

"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good." - George Washington
"The peaceable part of mankind will be overrun by the vile and abandoned while they neglect the means of self-defense...[but] arms like laws discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe...Horrid mischief would ensue were the good deprived the use of them." -- Thomas Paine

"Arms in the hands of individual citizens may be used at individual discretion in private self-defense." -- John Adams, A Defense of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America (1787-1788).

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater … confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, quoting Cesare Beccaria in "On Crimes and Punishment" (1764).

Now, go debate your ideas with them and see what you think they would say.

Funny, after talking to a Apache Helicopter pilot about the E.O.'s 9,995 to 10,051 he told me that if anyone ever ordered him to attack American Civilians he would turn his guns and missiles on those that issued the orders.

Your government has been enacting big brotherism on you for over a decade now as they slowly but steadily bring you into a police state..

    Where's the challenge?

Do you need MORE assualt weapons before you can challenge this big brotherism?

Just want to clarify some things here. The term assault rifle and assault weapon are over use and have taken over where sporting rifle should be used. Most commercially available AK/AR/HK style weapons are not assault rifles. Furthermore the rounds that are most common (.223 and 7.62X39) are not some super powerful evil round. They are intermediate rounds.

On the left below I have 3 rounds in front of a hunting clip for an AK style sporting rifle. The first is a hunting round in .270 (most powerful) the next is a military 30 cal round in FMJ (not as powerful) and the third is the scary AK-47 load (this one is for hunting).

The pic on the right is the same 7.62X39 (AK) round next to a round from my favorite handgun.

The AK round produces about 1570 lb-ft of energy and the handgun round is producing around 2000! As a note the 270 exceeds the AK by about 1300 lb-ft of energy.

Let's see, is there something you do NOT understand about a RIGHT??? It is my RIGHT to own as many weapons as I want to {or my wife will allow me to buy}. It is my RIGHT to own a Full Automatics Weapon if I can affort them, pass the FBI background check, afford the class 3 lisense, and afford to feed the dang things. What you think has NOTHING to do with other peoples rights. (By the way, I think you will find that you own a 1851 navy colt replica. Colt didn't make a 1853 model of anything.)

And where the .270 is a good mid range hunting weapon the AK is a short range weapon (short range, anything up to 150 yards, mainly a brush gun)

In the country you live in can you buy a 7MM Mag?? I mean just walk into the sporting goods store, buy it, wait your 15 days and pick it up??? How about a 30-06??? A .300 ulta Mag??? We can't buy Assult weapons without a Class 3 lisense here, how about where your at??? On an assult weapon you only pull the trigger once and it keeps firing until you release it. All other types of weapons you are calling assult are semi autos or the proper name, self loaders which have been around since the late 1800's

It's also delusional on a scale that's pretty extreme even for the lunatic fringe. The fantasy seems to be that the the government would have their assault rifles, the citizenry would have its assault rifles, and it would be Shootout at the OK Corrall. In reality, if the government seriously wanted to subdue the citizenry (whatever the hell that means), they'd come in with bombers and tanks and chemical weapons. Those big bad assault weapons that make the lunatic fringe feel so manly and tough would be absolutely useless.

This was Timothy McVeigh's favorite quote too.

I've noticed, though, that you hyper-patriots never want to shed your own blood, always someone else's. I guess it's irrelevant to you that the "patriots and tyrants" of Newtown happened to be 6 and 7 year olds. Please enlighten me: Exactly how did their blood refresh the tree of liberty?

I will light myself on fire in a public square if this country will force lobbying onto the public record under threat of a felony, and ban all private money in federal elections also under threat of a felony for all parties involved.

Considering all things, whether auto or semi-auto... it can be an assault weapon. And if that isn't in the official definitions now, after last week's massacre of children... it likely will be.
