    It sucks. They should have secured the gun if they had a mentally unstable child in the house. I don't think anyone advocates allowing access to guns to unstable adults or children. What does this have to with the tens of millions of legal gun owners in the country?

    Because there is no law requiring a gun be locked up if you have a mentally unstable person in the home. You are advocating gun control.

    those laws already exist, if the irresponsible grandmother didn't die, she'd be charged with endangerment of a minor & manslaughter for the kids suicide...
