This young lady is a gem

Imagine how much she will annoy liberals like the dancing bartender when she is in the House speaking during the one minute speeches

Thats assuming AOC is still in congress

Yes, she is a Gem! *****
I admire her for her courage to stand up in front of an audience and speak her mind.

A long time ago, when I was still a fetus, my parents decided not to have a fourth child... they already had three boys, aged 8, 10 and 12.
So, my mother went to the next big city to have an abortion. It was illegal in 1934 in Germany, and it had to be done secretly underground. I don't know where she got the address from, but she had a house number. As she finally stood, her heart pounding, in front of the door and rang the bell, she heard a voice inside her, saying: "Behalte dein Kind!" --> "Keep your child!"
She made a 180 degree turn and ran down the steps and along the sidewalk. Looking briefly over her shoulder, she saw a woman standing in the open door, calling to her. She kept running and took the train back home.

They were overjoyed when I was born in the middle of winter... a girl! As it turned out, I became a comfort to them when all three brothers one by one went off to war.

This little story is 100% true. My mother told it to me days before I left to get married in Canada.

I am thankful that my mother had the last minute courage and followed her inner intuition.
In turn I have given birth to five children and am a blessed mother and grandmother!:-D

So, all you young girls and ladies, remember, the unborn child is alive and has a life and a destiny to live. Take it as an honor and a sacred duty passed down the line to YOU... allow it to be born and loved and nourished! These little ones grow up so fast anyway.

I'm surprised they didn't try to burn her at the stake.

They just wanted anti-abortion people censored.

We're not going to be silenced though.

she is free to believe what she wants as are others, but if she is gonna public state her beliefs, people can publicly disagree with her

I will never believe forcing rape victims to have their rapists baby is a good thing

pro-choice allows her to decide for herself... not for others

the flip side of the coin is, if the government decides, they can force you to abort too

If a person is not free to express their opinion without fear of harassment, they are not free. A 13 year-old girl should have been to say her piece, others are free to say their bit as well, but
attempting to intimidate someone from sppeaking their mind is wrong. I would say that if a pro-choice child was booed. Its called common decency.

She should be allowed her say, but, yes, she is wrong. But if she is raped or impregnated by family, no law should force her to carry the child.

"Oh look at the little girl, what a gem, and so wise for her age."

Why would anyone want their adolescent child to be subjected to that? She's 13 years old for cripes sake, what does she know about abortion or slavery. At her age, she's merely echoing the opinion of her parents. When she's an adult of child bearing age, she may be able to form her own opinions because she's lived life a little more and has learned some life lessons. Right now, she's the voice of her church or her parents or someone else, not her own. Would she feel the same way at 22 if she was pregnant from a man who's not around in her life if she has no supportive family to care for her? Would she feel differently at 28 if one day the government rules that she can't take birth control pills or use an IUD if her husband is unemployed and their mortgage is overdue and they already has a couple of kids?

It's a very bad idea for any parent to use a child in this way, particularly on such a hot-button issue. This is the exploitation of a child to the max and it's sick. I am not in favor of abortion personally but I respect the law and I respect the fact that this is a personal choice between a woman and her doctor and if abortion is chosen then that woman has the right to a safe abortion performed by a physician and not in a back alley somewhere or by resorting to using a metal coat hanger to self-abort.

It's nobody's business, particularly the government as to what choices a woman makes about her own body. Thirty-one years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court recognized that a woman’s ability to choose abortion was a fundamental right, and it should remain that way.

Not a very good one, obviously written by a little girl with passion in her heart but really not that effective outside of stirring the pot.

Still, she has courage and to stand up there and present a presentation to the city council at her age is a feat in itself.

She will have a bright future in politics if she learns (which she will) to tame down that rhetoric a bit.

Her mistake here, and I am an expert speech giver, was to compare abortion to slavery.....what she effectively did was take the focus off of abortion and put it on the comparison between the two which obviously riled up the crowd.

That is pretty much all that anyone will remember about her speech, not her intended point.

Now there is a way to make that comparison but you do it lightly, with maybe a sentence or two but bringing up the flogging of a little black child immediately distracts your audience.

In one of my communications classes the students job, who were not giving the speech, was to act hostile to the speech giver and the assignment was to see how they handled the pressure.

This young girl did better than most of the students in my class did once the hostility set in.

She kept her composure and carried on with her point even though that point was misdirected.

FORCING a woman to carry a fetus to term is just like slavery. Literally, FORCED labor, indeed.

Exactly what we've been saying about that Environment kid .. the Swedish girl with mental illness and autism. She's a puppet of her 'abusive' parents (she should not be exploited .. exploitation is vile).

You must not remember that you had opinions when you were 13.

That was only ten years ago for me and I know I had strong opinions on many things.

I remember that when I was 11 there was a story of someone finding a mouse tail in their Mcdonalds hamburger so I wanted to shut Mcdonalds down so I made a sign and my dad drove me down to the location and I got my little sign and stood in front of their door.

He waited in the car and it was the middle of winter so I lasted about five minutes but I was adamant about shutting them down.

I was 13 years old in an age of innocence. In no way was I educated or 'worldly' enough about either abortion or slavery to be stood up in front of a committee and postulate about either of them. I was, however, smart enough to know not to open my mouth and pretend that I did though.

Only liberals pushing a liberal agenda are allowed to use phrases such as "plantation owner flogging a little black child". For an adolescent to use such a phrase to broadside the leftwing flagship of abortion, is near to blasphemy in liberal land. And yet she said it with fervor. Maybe she's parroting her Parents. But still, one could almost hear the timbers shattering and splintering.

    Well there you go.

I've met plenty of 13 year olds that are more articulate than some adults I know.

Some have more passion about a cause then most adults do.

13 isn't really a child anymore, its becoming a young woman.

    For some.

Some girls just stay stupid forever.

Agreed. That should be a no brainer. How some of my kind(right wingers)reach that point, I don't get. I'm thinking it must be prudence to a fault. And to be honest, it is chant like. I think that to reach that point, one must within their soul say that women don't matter. Oddly, many women are behind it.

First, lets be fair here. The quote 'shouting down' came in the last 40 seconds of 3 minutes of time, and it appeared to constitute a smallish number of the listening public, who decided to express their impatience, and objections. Most stayed entirely quiet throughout excepting a few groans until the umpteenth comparison to murder and along with this charge of 'akin to slavery'. Still, they should have kept their mouths respectfully shut for the rest of her time. I have never been much of a fan of 'heckling' as a form of communication. It always seemed the heighth of hypocrisy to shout down or interrupt a speaker, in the name of free speech or the open communication of ideas. We want to encourage kids like this girl into the process. She is brave and articulate and passionate. She might actually use this experience to learn more about how handle these situations, and even how she could improve on her performance and content. If I were her speech coach, I would redirect her from repetitious use of the same imagery/ language, and save the really incendiary for the final 'push' at the end.

To force a woman to carry a fetus against her will is slavery, yes.

Why would you assume that this child has no understanding of abortion or slavery? My experience is that out of the mouths of babes, many times, comes wisdom beyond their years. Could it be, that you believe, she has not had the opportunity to hear the liberal line? The majority of children have their early values about life formed by what they have learned from their parents and church. Why would you think this is a bad thing?

I never quite understood the rational thinking of liberals and their obsession with death. They push for stopping life before it even has a chance to get started by preaching for free condoms or other forms of birth control. In stead of instilling good moral common sense by abstention they throw in the towel and give the kids a free pass and then tell us " their going to do it anyway".

They use the argument that it's a woman's choice to have an abortion and yet never consider that the father should also have a choice and that the child they are carrying has no choice. They try and convince the public that every rape results in pregnancy and that every child that comes into the clinics is a victim of some abusive male. The majority of todays kids couldn't tell you what an alley is let alone a place abortions are performed. Now it has become chic to be able to get an abortion if the ultrasound say's the child could be deformed or the wrong sex.

The Supreme Court made a bad decision in 1973 with Roe vs. Wade. Even if one is pro-death or pro-life the Supreme Court infringed upon states rights.

I always find the argument that we must support Planned Parenthood because it's the only way poor people get help. Yet you see the poor people pull up in fancy cars, dressed to the 9's with expensive jewelry and talking or texting on their cell phones. Could be that's the reason they can't afford to pay for their own care.

Now you have liberal legislators in states that are passing laws for doctors to be able to subscribe lethal does of death to patience.

If she was 13 or even 15 years old and raped by her step father and forced to carry that baby to term, THEN she would have enough life experience to make a rational statement that would be more pertinent to abortion.
