Well, these laws are in place for reason and that is because of child pornography. You can't just say, oh it's okay for you but not for you.

From what I can remember about being a teen, every one of the young guys I knew would be packing their phones with these photos. Hell, that's the time of life when you're most curious about, and interested in, the opposite sex. I'd be more worried about them if they didn't have this interest.

Be honest. If you were a teenaged boy would you rather collect baseball cards, or naked photos of hot young ladies?

 

This is naivety talking. It's naive to think teens are compelled to follow through on their base urges. It suggests you've only ever seen that example.

The argument isn't whether teens THINK about this stuff (because they surely do), it's about whether they have the self-respect and respect for others not to indulge those thoughts inappropriately. It's about the self-control they learned as children.

 

Plenty of teenaged boys might want to collect nudes, but some choose not to - on the basis that it demeans the subject and themselves.

Having raised two teenagers I am sympathetic to the situation here and think these laws should be thought through more in light of the social media technology available to teens and their lack of understanding that they are committing a crime. This also comes into play where laws are passed regarding consensual sex between teens. The age of consent varies between states as does the age gap which is permissible under law. But why in the hell do liberal leftists always make it about race? Just a few weeks ago a White boy at one of our local high schools was arrested for rape. He had just turned 18 and his girlfriend who was also White was just under 15. His life is ruined.......we can discuss all night if that is fair or just......but it's not friggin' about 'race'.......now is it?
