America is so fast to attack China and other countries with one party systems. And really rightfully so. It's a terrible system that's slow to change and prone to abuse. Heck, look at China. They're getting better slowly but it's still not exactly the freest place to live .

So we have a 2 party system. Anyone else sick of it? I have... 2 choice. IMO it's not much better than 1. Once in a long while a party dies but it's just replaced by a similar party so it's still just 2 parties. And we technically have more but they don't really have a chance to win anything substantial.

And the 2 parties control and influence it's members pretty much exactly like China does. Through corruption. Well, this is mostly on the Republican side (when it comes to finance).
If you don't stay in your place the Parties will often stop funding you and fund someone else in your district. If you don't vote for what they want you to vote for they'll often do everything in their power to replace you.
Your representatives usually aren't actually representing you. They're representing their party. (though a few are able to circumvent this)

Really, I'm sick of our system. It's corrupt in my opinion.
Heck, I think we should get rid of them. Vote on candidates by the issues. But of course that will never happen.

I especially hate it now that I know the democrats are the party of ineffectiveness, lies and stupidity and the republicans are the party of regression, money only for the rich and hate.

Why not change for a system without parties? :-D Where is the people that take decissions directly. No representative.

You're reporting the bipartidism. And yes in reality both, Democrats and Republicans are the same party. Defend the same interests.

China IS us, both figuratively and literally. The whole system is completely corrupt, but, when all you have is the choice to vote FOR one of the two parties that openly and unapalagetically represent the super wealthy (the right wing) and one who does occasionally favor the less wealthy, hey, what's a brother to do?

You can't have that! Who would represent big money? Corporate crime? Magical accounting methods? Wall street? CEO's?

Honestly, I'm still pro representatives. The people are incapable of making good decisions much of the time. But the key is getting GOOD representatives. 95% of them suck.

I mean look at California. California votes on propositions to become law. California has a record of voting hellishly wrong almost every freakin' time.
If someone is shiny and new and costs billions we don't have they'll vote for it and it'll get stuck. Average people should not be in charge of the money so much (instead their representatives) because they'll just bleed us dry like they have in California.

IMO we need more rules and regulations for politicians and our representatives. Try to force them to be truthful and honest. Get rid of those ridiculous protections against slander and flat out lies they get in congress ("That was not meant to be a factual statement" should be punishable by prison). Increase transparency. Make them have to do all political stuff in the public eye.
Let the people have an educated and truthful chance to elect the right representatives. Transparency must be 100% outside of their personal homes (and no bringing business in there). Lies must be punishable by law.

Theoretically putting it all on the people sounds nice but the people in general and collectively make TERRIBLE accountants and are very reactionary. We need smart and honest representatives that are free of the negative influence of parties and are completely transparent.

Oh...they do, and will use it. Maybe a bite and an infection before death can do somebody in the future some good though?

The most powerful weapon the corrupt corporations and rich have is influence. The masses are by default more powerful and could overtake them as has been seen in history time and time again.

P.S. don't take my statement of "corrupt corporations and rich" to mean ALL corporations and rich. I am NOT anti-corporation or rich. Heck, I'll very likely be rich soon myself if all goes well in this next year ;P. I do however realize that certain corporations and rich do use their massive influence to negatively affect our country and it's middle class and poor.
Again, some are corrupt. Not all. Most aren't in fact. But the select few are so effective at being dicks that something should really be done.

Most corporations aren't on the top. The bigger ones that control much of the markets are more often corrupt and it shows a lot more because they control most of the market. But there are plenty of corporations, usually but not universally smaller ones that really have much less influence and aren't out there screwing Americans all the time.
You can usually tell which are which. The non-corrupt ones are most of often the ones to die. It's tough to compete with corruption and people willing to do ANYTHING to beat you.

So I stand by my statement. Most corporations aren't really massively corrupt. It's just many of the bigger ones and the bigger banks that control most of the economy that are.

    :p

Well, how many corporate giants are there that haven't already merged, taken over, or successfully driven the once decent corporations (that you apparently believe exist) out of existence?
Walmart, for example. America's biggest corporate success story. The ultimate "business' model that the fat cats lick their chops over, and absolutely the biggest and worst nightmare to "take over" in our lifetimes. They're the cancer that is eating us alive. Oh hell, they already have. Banks are just a big shell game and the roaches have already eaten the insides out of whatever worth they ever had. The economy is based on NOTHING. It hasn't been based on anything for some time now. We make NOTHING, except profit, how to profit, how to future profit, how to screw the other guy out of his piece of the shrinking pie. That's America today...all run, owned, and destroyed by corporate greed, and an American Idol public.

You are little better than China.

You have a one-party system controlled by Wall St.

The corporates give you two choices of the same party in order to keep you under the illusion that you have a choice.

Yeah yeah, and I guess your answer is a benevolent dictatorship? Because that is the ONLY type of Government with the power to break the conspiracy you claim exists.

My answer is throw all the bazturds out and reclaim America for the common man. Start over and "outsource" the CEO's on slow boats to China.

Well I hate to inform you, but that would take a totalitarian dictatorship. American Government doesn't have that kind of power.

We really have only one party with two masks for public viewing. This is why nothing changes, because the real people in control never lose power, we just picke their puppets that they pick for us.

We are being double teamed and played for fools!

Hegelian dialectic, two forces aligned against one another. One is thesis, the other antithesis.

The conflict will produce a synthesis; in this case, the loss of national sovereignty and the end of freedom

Cash has successfully replaced humanity. The two are no longer compatible, thanks to the goals of corporate America. Now what? They won the monopoly game. Time to start a new game. This time, base it on humanity.
