OK folks, assuming Obama, the Boy Wonder, manages a second term. We can safely assume the House will remain in GOP control. This will provide a safeguard against a decidedly Leftist Democrat party and a 2nd term president with no reelection concerns. That would be very dangerous.
Now, fast forward four years. I'm very hopeful for the GOP in that some very high quality candidates will be emerging and will be a serious threat to the Democrat party in that the Dems will have NOBODY. Hillery? Cuomo?? Please. My bet is NJ Governor Chris Christie will be the nominee with possibly Bobby Jindal as his running mate. Since Christie is not exactly known for being a powderpuff media darling, he'll wipe his ass with any Democrat candidate at the debates.

Oh, I thought Romney was going to win in a landslide?

Truth be told I'm not too keen on Romney, but the urgency of Getting Obama out the the WH is of paramount importance for the sake of the nation as a whole. Having said that. I again reiterate that should His Royal Pain In the Ass Highness Obama manage a second term, thank God the House would remain in Republican control. A second term Obama presidency coupled with a rubber stamp Democrat Congress is a combination I cannot stomach.

Are you going to be stomping your widdle foot like this for the next 4 years?

Yeah, that will attract people to the Republican party. Young voters dig bitter tantrums.

Well there is something to what you say. I do feel like the GOP ran their second string against Obama- almost like they wanted to lose.

Chris Christie is very appealing but- but- he made the terrible mistake of saying nice things about Obama- and we know that Republicans eat their own if they stray outside the GOP marked path.

For Democrats- look at who was talking at the Democratic convention to see who might be running. I don't think Hilary will run. Cuomo would make sense but not sure there is any excitement over him.

Well, depending on who the next chairman of the RNC is, I think they'll take a serious look at Christie. And assuming Christie is the GOP pick. One, he'll select a Conservative for his running mate. It makes sense to balance the ticket. Two, any Democrat that runs against him will be slaughtered at the debates. Simply because with Obama's ineptitude, the voters will have enough of His Royal Pain In The Ass Highness Obama and the Democrats for a very long time.

Also, you conveniently forget that it is likely the GOP will retain control of the House.

LOL- the economy is going to rebound by 2016, regardless of who is in office. If Obama is re-elected, he will get credit for it- the voters will be in love with him and the Democrats.

Now that being said- Christie is appealing but he also made the cardinal mistake of saying something nice about Obama. Republicans are not forgiving about stuff like that- of course that is what is appealing about Christie- I think he would tell the GOP to F-off if they were to get too pissy.

What is it with our rightwing brethren today? Seems like just yesterday they were hellfire certain Romney was going to win and any thought to the contrary was just retarded.

You really SHOULD wait until Wednesday morning before you start with the, "at least congress was, yada yada yada," or, "I never really liked Romney anyways," concessions.

It's still close. Anything can happen. Remember that play call when Green Bay played Seattle? Wins can be losses, catches can be uncaught.

wednesday, one way or another, some will gloat and some will eat crow. Serve no crow before it's time.

And what do you know about Christie? Google his political positions, there's not much.

Outside of being a fiscal conservative, and being a recent convert to pro-life, he has not stated an opinion on many issues. His claim to fame is his position on education but that is driven by NJ fiscal problems.

Remember he is gov of NJ, a very progressive state. Christie is one of those NE "conservatives", just like Romney, he has an "R" after his name, but in almost any state except NJ he would be a "D".

People have gotten burned in the past with predictions.

But on your question, assuming Obama gets re-elected and looking forward to 2016. I know Carl Rove is looking for Jeb Bush to run and expects that would be against Hillary for what that's worth. On Christie and he is my governor and helped himself image wise so far with Sandy, he has one big issue with ever being President. And that is his weight. That may be superficial but it's still an issue. Cuomo is a possibility but really who knows at this early date who will be the front runners for either party.

Those are the issues I'm most interested in. That and his ability to (*)(*)(*)(*) off the media with his no-nonsense style (remeniscent of former Buffalo, New York Mayor; the late James D. Griffin) are what appeal to me. We don't need another media darling primadonna.

That's true, and there's the chance that Romney may very well pull this off.

Yeah except Dewey was the republican trying to unseat the sitting democratic president. They said Dewey looked like the little guy on top of wedding cakes. Romney looks like that too lol.

The reality is, when Obama wins tomorrow, the eyes of the country will shift HEAVILY on the GOP Congress. They will immediately begin running for the mid term election with the world expecting them to step up to the plate. Obstruction will NOT work for another 2 years, because they will be the ones running for office in 2 years, not Obama. If things don't improve, THEY get the blame, not the lame duck. This was the chance for the Senate to swing, but more GOP states will be running in two years for that as well. If the economy does down, or the budget doesn't start to make sense, or the deficit gets worse, or the debt ceiling doesn't get resolved, Congress will be voted out on their butts in 2 years, plain and simple.

The same thing happened in 96 after Clinton's improbable win. Guess what Newt's formely obstructionist Congress was forced to do? They played ball and began to compromise. It was the only thing that paved a way for the Bush catastrophe.
