Meh.. VA has voted D every election since 2004... I'd say we are no longer even a purple state... But was very happy my 10th district put Comstock out of our misery in 2018 Disappointed Dr. Webb didn't get the 5th, but that is one big-assed district, which goes from Rt 66 to NC.... long way to go before educated voters reach some of those places...
Okay, I'm not going to get as specific as district but we are neighbors. I've probably run into you on the Metro without knowing it, lol. I have cabin fever because the museums are not open at full force. I love spending weekends on the National Mall at least once a month. I can't wait to get back to the Smithsonian events. If you mean Jim Webb, he's a respectable candidate. Barbara Comstock seems like a nice lady but she's in the wrong Party.
I'm trying to work out if: people are genuinely ignorant about how US elections work; so brainwashed by their devotion to Trump that the treat everything he & his other supporters say as truth; or are just lying. Perhaps it is a mixture of all three. Vote counting ALWAYS takes days, sometimes weeks. There is NOTHING new about this. The only change this time is that it is taking longer in more places due to the high number of postal votes. The scale of the deliberate disinformation going on at the moment is truly depressing.
Doubtful... we are still a bit too far out for regular Metro (although coming soon)... I generally only take Metro to go down to the occasional Caps game, including the parade in 2018 Funny you mention Smithsonian... Just yesterday, my kid said he wanted to go visit the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space museum on 28 again sometime soon. Took him several years ago, and I doubt much has changed, but it's a nice visit if you've never hit that one.. We go right at 4pm, because it's free to park... haven't checked pandemic rules, but I know it's open...

This. I'm pretty sure that by 1 AM the next day in 2008, we knew Obama was President. Same thing with 2012. Hell, even 2016 was resolved the next day. We never had what we're dealing with right now.
