20,000 dead divided by approximately 2.6 million infected is a mortality rate of about 0.77%.

That means people have about a 99.23% of surviving a COVID infection.

Let me know if you find these numbers confusing.

I'm more interested to see what the doomsday cult's new line will be now that there is sufficient evidence disproving their asinine doomsday prophecies.

I've got a little math for everyone, too. A whopping .04% of the people in our county have contracted the WuFlu yet everyone is under house arrest until June 10. That's one helluva "pandemic" that necessitates destroying the freedom and livelihoods of all the "non-essential" flotsam and jetsam in our community.

But there are two very significant problems with your numbers. One, we do not know the true rate of infection because there is a lack of testing for so long - and that is the explicit point of this thread. Two, the number infected is "thus far" and "with house arrest for weeks." Without the house arrest, the number of infections would be far greater as well as the number of dead.

Finally, I would love to figure out if you have a reason for why Trump is unable to see the "truth" that you can so plainly see?

The results of this test are very interesting especially when coupled with the results from the testing down in a section of CA.

I'm hoping they are testing segments of other areas as well so we can compare. I'd like to be tested once it's available in my area.

Anyway, the numbers will continue to come down as more testing is done. That has been the trend from the beginning. With each new tranche of data, the deadliness of the virus is revised significantly downward. By the time we have a full picture of this virus, it will be largely indistinguishable from the common flu in terms of its deadliness.

 

8x more deadly than a virus which kills ~30,000-50,000 every year is a virus that kills ~240,000-400,000 every year.

 

The economy will stay under incredible strain until people learn to ignore the hysterics and alarmists who keep trying to spread fear of a virus that poses virtually no threat to 99% of the population.
