How could the big lie be debunked when there was never an investigation of the results of the 2020 election? People still believe it because they need to. The reasons probably vary from person to person, but conspiracy theories are attractive to some people, and the less of the stretch in truth and rationality necessary to believe in a given theory makes it more appealing. It's easy to dismiss conspiracy theories about us faking the moon landings, because it's both outrageous and non-emotional. Conspiracy theories about why your favorite politician lost an election are far more enticing due to the emotional investment and because on their face they can give the appearance of being more realistic.

People need to still believe Trump won and believe that the Democrats rigged it that way. It must function as a security blanket or some kind of crutch for some folks. I'm not studied enough in psychology to be able to explain the underlying reasons why a specific person needs those things. But I think we all do at some points in our lives in various fashions. It may not take the form of a conspiracy theory, but perhaps even the act of rationalizing things that are upsetting performs a similar function.

Liberals seem to be the group laser focused on the 2020 election as opposed to what can we do today to better this nation. Sad for them, but that is the Democrats normal agenda because they have no clue what is needed to better this nation.

 

What amazes me even more, the left tries (unsuccessfully) to make these election fraud claims out to be some one time event. When in actuality, Hillary was on a 2 year book tour about how the election was stolen from her over election fraud, Democrats spent 3 years investigating and claiming the Russians stole the election with Trump, and Donna Brazile claiming the 2016 primary was rigged.

The fact that the lefts hypocrisy isn't even recognized by the lefts current claims shows the true reality of their current claims. So when they can't sell Biden getting the most votes in history when he couldn't even fill a High School gymnasium, the default whine is a conspiracy theory even in the face of convictions.

When you studied psychology, was it Democrat psychology? Because you seem to leave out a lot of facts in your theory.

I am not "the left". And Biden didn't need to fill gymnasiums, because his election win wasn't because people believed in him. It wasn't because people wanted a President Biden and felt excited about him.

It was because he was the other choice on the ballot and his name wasn't Donald Trump. Just like Donald Trump was the other choice on the ballot and his name wasn't Hillary Clinton.

I didn't mean to imply that I had studied psychology in any kind of fashion other than the occasional online reading. Consider this response here to be me saying unequivocally that I have not studied psychology in any kind of a school or professional setting other than an Intro to Psychology class 20 years ago.
