Why can't I find any staunch Bernie fan here?

 

That would be because most of his ideas are unworkable, stupid or just plain silly when they aren't all three.

 

Probably because he ended up belly-crawling before both Hillary Clinton and the DNC while tossing his loyal supporters under the political bus for his own political self-interest after Hillary was GIVEN the nomination by the DNC. They have been consequences by way of Bernie being unable to rekindle that fire and loyalty among the people that he ended up urinating on.

 

Most people know the real Bernie is a washed-up recycled hippie. Talk about a con man who never held a real job!!! He is nothing more than a political version of a TV preacher wanting you to send them your money. The definition of a Bernie supporter -- "A fool and his money are soon parted".

 

His agenda is contrary to our economic system. He is sincere and consistent. No doubt about that. But he is wrong.

 

I'm a Bernie fan. I would have voted for him last time, but the rotten DNC put Hillary up instead.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda, if Bernie had been the candidate instead of Hitlery, Trump likely would have been defeated.

 

He would have won by a larger margin. Americans hate socialism.

 

Younger generations know better and Bernie's agenda is triumphant sooner or later.

 

"Bernie couldn't beat Hillary but he could have beat Trump" -- talk about wishful thinking.

Bernie's political ideology would put someone like me in a gulag because of thought crimes.

The younger generations only know that Bernie will continue to spoil and coddle them just as my generation has done. My generation worked to hard to make our children's lives too easy and left them unprepared for the real world. They believe Bernie will protect them from the real world so its a natural progression.

If you are referring to the 'socialist' countries in Europe, you are quite mistaken; they are capitalistic economies with the ability to spend tax dollars for social spending instead of defense.

Why?

They are under the U.S. defense umbrella. The 'free' health care provided to citizens of these countries are essentially funded by the U.S. taxpayer. Force the UK, France, Germany, Denmark etc to provide for their own defense budgets and their 'free' healthcare would be eliminated to purchase tanks and missiles. This is why we should eliminate NATO, all U.S. oversea bases and allow these countries, including South Korea, Taiwan and Japan, to fend for themselves.

The American taxpayer is tired of funding the social spending of European and Asian governments.

And true socialist economies always end up failing, and become totalitarian. Read your history...

 

Perhaps you don't know the reason why Bernie "couldn't beat Hillary". It was part of the subject matter of the leaked DNC material--the powers that be within the DNC rigged the system in Hillary's favor.

As an Independent I supported Bernie in the 2016 primaries.

I give him full credit for jump starting the current Progressive movement that is transforming the Dems from their insipid GOP-Lite stance into a more PRO-ACTIVE party aimed at redressing the immeasurable harm caused to We the People by the Republican/Libertarian fiscal malfeasance that opened the door to our current GREED OBSESSED oligarchy that is destroying our nation.

 

Bernie correctly states that our trade policies were bad but Bernie's answer to trade with China is not to change trade policy but to punish American companies for being profitable by trading with other countries.

 

Sure. "This time we'll do it right." But it's never happened, leftist utopian dreams aside.

He lost his credibility cowering before Clinton. We could debate his ideas and philosophy all day, but its plainly obvious he doesnt have what it takes to stand up to the corrupt establishment.

That, and theres still a lot of folks who dont want to cede their individual rights to the authoritarian collectivism required for socialism to function properly.
