I would be inclined to take you up on your offer of a wager if in five years you had somehow managed to donate even the minimum amount which I think is five bux? As it stands I find your pockets a tad light to cover your end of the bargain in the certainty of my impending victory. Carry on.

So you can't afford $25 or you don't believe your own words. Got it. Carry on, young man. The fact you turned down the bet, which was stated in such a manner in which you could easily call me out should I not pay up IF you won is interesting since you obviously are not as confident in your opinion as I am in mine. No matter. It's common among people like you to shoot your mouth off without ever having to backup your opinions with fact or in reality. Have a nice life, 22.

I had a restaurant refuse my $10. They just said they couldn't take it because it was fake.

The funny thing is, I got the bill in change from that same restaurant the day before. I mentioned that to them. I think it's why they started checking more consistently.

And that's actually how it's usually handled with a single bill. People tell you you got scammed, and give the bill back. They don't want to mess with calling the police. Actual counterfeiters don't want to waste time spending a ten on food. The people who do that are the ones who got scammed. Actual counterfeiters will do things like spend a fake hundred and ask for $85 in change.

Lucky for you, but by Federal law, if someone receives a bill they suspect is fake, they are required to hang onto it. Presumably as evidence. Giving it back just allows the fake money holder to go find another sucker.

FWIW, I have no problem calling the police on scammers and other crooks. YMMV

Neither BK nor the employee did anything wrong or broke any laws.
Passing counterfeit money, even unknowingly, is illegal.
Funny, there seems to be no video of the encounter with the police either. Is there police body-cam video of the incident?
Is this an example of what we refer to as investigative reporting?
Perhaps BK should be the one filing charges, against the media?

It was suspected to be counterfeit, but turned out to be real.
The BK employee acted appropriately, and without all the facts of what happened after the police were called we can only make baseless assumptions relative to what then happened.
As it was a homeless person, he was provided a residence and meals until which time the issue was resolved, albeit it slowly and perhaps indicative of compassion knowing he had no place to go if released immediately.
