I would personally put the "for any reason" limit at the point of 50/50 viablility, which is around 25 weeks, the current standard under Roe v Wade. In cases of fetal non-viability, risk to health of the mother, rape and incest, I would have no limits. Any licensed MD should be able to perform a non-surgical abortion in their office, and all OB/GYNS should offer surgical and non-surgical procedures. However, the condition may exist if a second physician who is licensed in Alabama as a psychiatrist, with a minimum of three years of clinical experience, examines the woman and documents that the woman has a diagnosed serious mental illness and because of it, there is reasonable medical judgment that she will engage in conduct that could result in her death or the death of her unborn child.
