He killed her with a real gun, being used as a prop.

I'd bet that Baldwin's hate for the NRA kept him from hiring a qualified NRA instructor.

He should have hired an NRA instructor, this would not have happened.

An NRA Instructor would definitely have checked the gun him or herself, before handing it to Baldwin, and would then have INSISTED that Baldwin re-check the gun while the NRA Instructor observed him do it.

Just like I was taught to do.

Any competent firearms instructor/handler regardless of who trained them would have done much the same. There's nothing magical about the having the letters 'NRA' in front of your instructors qualification.

I became a lifetime member of the NRA when I realized how much that enrages folks that hate Law Abiding Citizens that own guns and The Second Amendment.

Just Google "instructor accidentally fires gun" to see many cases.

An instructor? Why? Are those that they trained not competent enough to do the job?

Think of it this way - do you want a student doing the job, or the teacher?

I could see some sort of negligence through him being a producer and not setting a more strict/industry standard of gun safety protocols.

Here's a clue for you. You keep asking why Baldwin would point a gun at someone. In the real world that is a serious safety no-no. But how many times have you watched a movie where the audience is staring down the barrel of a gun? How do you think the director gets that shot? The actor is pointing his gun directly at the camera which means the actor is also pointing the gun at the cinematographer who is holding the camera. Do you see the difference between handling guns in the real world and handling a prop gun in Movieland?

I would provide a source but I can't find one so any source at this point would be welcomed.

The source of information should always be considered before taking it as the gospel truth. You don't do the same thing?
