The larger purpose of school integration was to solve the American segregation dilemma, but integration had three specific goals of its own: Lift black academic achievement, raise black self-esteem, and give black and white children better impressions of each other. There have now been hundreds of studies of the effects of school integration, and none of these goals has been achieved.

Mandatory school integration was exactly what the sociologists wanted but there was a snag: Whites refused to cooperate. They did not usually object to a few well-behaved black transfer students, but when children from the "bad" part of town started arriving by the busload or when white children were bused across town to black schools, whites abandoned the public schools.

Forced integration thus prompted a colossal change in the American cityscape. The race riots of the 1960s helped push whites out of cities, but school busing, which went on year after year, probably pushed out even more. More than a half century after 'BROWN', most whites still refuse to attend schools that are a majority non-white. During the 2006-2007 school year, only 13 percent of white students attended such schools.

    SEGREGATION IN HOUSING
One trend during the 1990s was that minority groups were slightly more likely to live closer to each other--Hispanics and blacks, or Asians and Hispanics--but that by 2000, whites were no more likely than in 1990 to have non-white neighbors.
Television personality Chris Matthews routinely promotes integration, and Ted Koppel hectored whites who live apart from blacks. Where do they live? Mr. Matthews in 95-percent white Chevy Chase, and Mr. Koppel in Potomac, also in Maryland, which had a black population of 3.9 percent.

    WHAT CAUSES SEGREGATION
In Southern California it is Hispanics whom blacks want to keep out. They do not like ranchera music or neighbors who keep chickens, or who park their cars on the front lawn. They resent soccer players taking over public parks. As one president of a black homeowners association in South Central Los Angeles described the influx, "It's a different culture, a different breed of people. They don't have the same values. You can't get together with them. It's like mixing oil and water."

    CHURCHES
During the civil rights era, churches made a passionate, moral case for integration. Have they practiced what they preached? Churches are not governed by the same civil rights laws as schools and employers. This expalins why they are some of the most segregated institutions in America. According to one study, nearly 95 percent of churches have congregations that are at least 80 percent one race or ethnic group. In a school or neighborhood, this would be considered hyper-segregation.
WHITE IDENTITY...Racial Consciousness in the 21st Century by Jared Taylor

ps: There were so many more examples and statistics to describe the need and or want to keep the races segregated that I couldn't possibly list them all. Perhaps this post will give you more of an appreciation of my personal decision to live in an all-white gated community of like-minded people. Bottom line is that integration was and is a failure while segregation was and is still KING and favored by every race!

Felt the need to bump this one back to the top where it belongs. The obvious solution to any and all of our racial problems is of course to segregate the masses with each according to their needs and to their comfort zones. Perhaps you could call me the WHITE MLK of our time, as far as being in-tuned to what we need to do in stopping all of this racial hatred and madness, but where MLK's solution of having a colorless society failed--mine of having a segregated society would surely work..

Racism and the stuff you are suggesting is idiotic; destructive nonsense.

Pay attention, the only racism being shoved out in our society comes from the fact that integration/desegregation has failed wherever and whenever it was implemented. Total segregation of the masses is favored by every race, as I can give you overwhelming statistics and examples of how and why that is true. You need only to open your gray tinted eyes to see the glaring truth here.

You may not agree with Libhater's style, but what he is speaking of was once known as common sense. In the time before forced integration, the large majority of disparate groups self-segregated because most people prefer to be among like kind. Why do you think there have always been Spanish, Italian, Jewish, Chinese, German neighborhoods in every region? I'll tell you why, because they share common identity, common values, likes and dislikes, common religious beliefs culture and cuisine.

What fantasy oriented control freaks never take into account is the natural proclivity of self-separation and they also fail to account for people getting sick and tired of being told they are bad because they want to be left alone, to associate with whom they choose, and not be forced to accept the garbage of multiculturalism.

Before you go off as per usual on your hand wringing despair, you need to learn to separate what people prefer in their own life, and how that does not correlate to treating people different from them badly. Just because some of us have no interest in a rainbow America, does not mean we hate people who are different or would treat them poorly in our personal life. Preference does not equate with evil.

We do live on islands, they are known as neighborhoods, towns, counties. You want one that reflects your values, go there. Just let us do the same. The government is FORCING integration throughout the nation. That is bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

More ignorant nonsense to promote your racism. Most people won't buy that foolishness.

You have nothing except boilerplate talking points. You won't address the truth of most people flocking to their own kind (ethnic neighborhoods) because you can't argue against reality.

    You live in fantasy land.

I see exactly what you are saying; it's not new, nor is it profound.

And yes, I will BLAST that BS as "nonsense" every time. I don't have to tolerate evil, destructive ideas; no, not at all.

If you cannot stand that, don't post.

I spend a great deal of my life dealing with all different kinds of people and have never ever felt government pressure to integrate anything I do. In many incidences integration exists and because of that we are stronger. Diversity of thought brings perspectives that are missing in homogeneity. That is a fact. In fact that diversity has made us stronger. However there are times that people want to be with their own cultural groups. That is common in part, if you are a minority there are times you don't want to have to explain yourself to other people. (For example when I wear my kippah in public people often feel they can ask me questions about Judaism).

Government integration is often most specific in schooling. The reason was that minority community schools were badly funded and run because the value was placed in the white neighborhoods by school systems. Some say this is still true. Integration was an attempt to level a playing field.

Now speaking of church in this discussion is a little disingenuous. Church life is almost always related to families. Generations of the same family stay in a church. Since there was a time when integrated churches were preached against (by whites) but if you look at less main stream churches from evangelical churches to UU and UUI start ups they are fairly integrated.

There is also a difference between public and private life. I don't see anywhere where the government is regulating your private life.

You're forgetting the 1st and most important factor in your example, which is language. Most of the groups you've named were the largest influx of immigrants at one time or another.

Lest it appears that I cosign your dribble, let me state that if your ideas were made reality things here would be more exacerbated. You see the ways things are now we're all jockeying for position for who gets more of the pie. The pie being tax dollars and where or which community has the greater need and gets the most or them.

Seeing racism/segregation as natural allows Whites to believe there is little they can do to make society more just. Like fighting racism would be like trying to stop the rain. It excuses inaction.

How do we know that racism/segregation is not natural?

First, racism/segregation is not built into human nature. If it were we would see it in nature, perhaps we would've seen it in past societies like Ancient Jews or the Greeks. But both the Jews and the Greeks divided the world into an us and them, but neither used race to do it: the Jews used religion and the Greeks used language. The color of your skin meant little to them.

Second, there is no reason for racism/segregation to be wired into our brains by evolution: coming across people of other races was rare till the last few thousand years. Not enough time to affect evolution. Europeans did not even think of themselves as “White” till about 1500: race as we know it is a side-effect of mass ocean travel.

Even in America Blacks were made into slaves at first because of religion: they were not Christians. Race as an excuse came later, not till the 1660s.

It was only when race became an excuse for keeping Blacks as slaves and taking land from the Amerindians, only when society was built on skin color, that racism/segregation began to seem part of the “natural” order of things. GDAY!!!

I'm having a hard time figuring out how or why you put racism and segregation together as being natural. Once you realize that it is racism/integration that becomes a natural marriage then you'll get a better understanding as to why we're having some much racial tension in our society.

Actually I'm stating they are unnatural. If you had your way how many societies would we have??? Would there be Black states,White states and Hispanic states???Would we have different armed forces??? Would voting for the president change??? Could actors in Hollywood of different "races" act together???Would miscegenation be outlawed??? Would mulattoes have to divorce one parent???
I mean have you thought this through???

If racism and segregation is so natural, why did so many white men rape so many negro slave women? If there had been no sex going on between the races in North American, every African-American would be a dark-brown that is almost black. God did not just spontaneously put Halle Berry on this earth.

That is true...racism is not natural....but that is not the whole story and we need to define racism.

    We don't.

While true there are studies, many studies, that show that morphological similarity is welcomed and morphological differences are suspect. We see this in children and have seen it in how adults approach new situations. While you are clear about your statements, ancient Jews also converted many to Judaism and the Greeks taught their language to conquered people. But you are correct, there is a distinction that people make and what that distinction is does not necessarily relate to physical attributes, but physical attributes play a role in emotional reactions.

Actually different morphology is something we are hardwired to see as suspect. In fact in part because it is determined by genes and we are more likely to want to be with and support people who share our DNA. Again this is part of evolution. So when race became an issue with travel, race was just one more thing. But that is not racism.

Again your statement is partially true. Africans were seen as less than for many reasons. Like Native Americans they were an oddity. Some didn't see them as fully human even as far back as the 1st century (though most accepted them as part of God's great diverse tapestry of the earth). Race became a much bigger excuse later as you say.

Not completely true but I won't get into it.

We do have a natural and hardwired notion of connecting with people like ourselves. Ethnic pride plays even more of a role now as we define ourselves in western culture by our occupations and our cultural groups. (In Africa for example however even though tribal differences may be secondary you see it come to the fore a great deal when a member of a tribe is publicly attacked or worse). We have a notion to rally to our own. But that said, that means nothing when it comes to modern humanity in the west. We have created a society where you can keep your ethnic identity and be a good member of the greater community. We have been suspect of many groups over time, Germans and Japanese during the mid-20 century. Italians and Jews even earlier and Jews still today. Catholics, as they broke the chains of discrimination in 50s and today the struggle is Muslims from Arabia and Hispanics. But we have evolved past the evolutionary responses. We don't only rely on instinct. We are better than that and so we can mix together and overcome our fear and language and metaculture will override this.

You're making a micro example macro. Tribalism is the norm and it's natural acting as a defense mechanism for the strength of the unit, rather than having it diluted with unlike persons.

Study anthropology and you will find the answers. What is unnatural is the kind of race or culture mixing you describe, but that does not mean it does not exist sometimes in large numbers depending on where and when you look.

While nothing you've said invalidates anything I've said 100%, I would like to see a link of 1st century dehumanization of Blacks.
In addition the scrutinizing of different morphology says little. It didn't save pygmies from Bantu nor did it save Amerindians from Euros.

This is a misconception: There isn't now nor has there EVER been one type of African. Meaning Africa is the birth place of all the features of mankind. From White skin, blond hair,(Albinos) blue eyes, thin lips, thin noses(Somalis), tallest bodies(Sudanese), shorties bodies(Pygmies) to the epicanthic eyelid(Khoisan)
Please don't regurgitate their foolishness. I despise the word but I'll use it anyways Sub-Saharan Africans are the most diverse people on the planet and that is a scientific FACT, without ANY ad-mixtures.

I think identifying segregation as racism is the quickest way that people dismiss what is natural.

Perhaps if we only look at it in reference to race … We neglect to realize that race is not the only tenant.
There are neighborhoods were police officers prefer to live … Likewise enclaves of roughnecks and oilmen … There are certainly neighborhoods where educators or professors tend to clump.
It isn't all about race as projected … as much as it is about wanting to be around people with shared experiences.

The best example I can think of is the military … because it can also pass the boundaries of which service you were in.
You can have a Vietnam Era cook run into an Afghan Era Motor Pool mechanic that have never spoken to each other before.
After 10 minutes and few beers … They will be chatting up things like they have been best friends for 20 years.

Furthermore … An Army Vet may sit there and give a Chair Force Vet a lot of hell in ribbing … and the Ground Pounder will get his share too.
If someone else steps up and says something stupid to one of them … They are both going to turn on that person.

The worst definition of racism I have ever heard involves the idea of not liking someone because of the race they are in combination with the activities they conduct as part of their race.
If that were the case and definition … And you hated the KKK or White Supremacist … You could label yourself as a racist.
Our society has become so backwards trying to be politically correct … that forwards looks just as stupid.

Case in Point in Reference to what you say here:

In a Parish in Louisiana the Justice Department was called, and has overseen the administration of the Parish Public School district for years.

    Primary Reason:
The Parish has one mid-size town, and a bunch of small rural towns with low population … The Larger town in the district was at one time fairly well mixed in demographics.
As Liberals … And especially African Americans gradually took over the government of the Parish Seat … Everyone else started moving out of town to escape poor legislation and mismanagement of funds.
As a result … The town as well as the outlying areas in the district became more segregated … and the schools in those outer areas soon required expansion.

The Justice Department was called when test scores at the schools in the large town plummeted as the white children left.
It also involved the fact that the District was forced to expand schools in predominantly white areas of the Parish … and the the people left behind thought that was unfair.
Take note that each school system in the school district receives at least half of it's funding from the tax base where it is located.
It should also be noted that the Parish borders another one that houses a much larger city that was and is also experiencing the same “white flight” from Liberal - African American government.

    Results of the White Relocation:
Large … Very nice neighborhoods pooped up all over the northern part of the Parish … and are 89% white.
The school population in that area is 85% white … and the volume of students has been increasing at a rate of almost doubling every two years.
The Pre-K to 2nd grade, 3rd to 5th grade, Middle school and High school all have passing grades … With none of the schools achieving below a “High B” rating, and most have an “A”.
All of the schools in the larger town (Parish Seat) received failing grades from the State Board of Education … and nobody wants to attend those schools or teach at those schools.
Not to mention that the African American school board member that represents that portion of the School District was just arrested and convicted on 30 felony counts of cocaine distribution.

The Action Taken by the Justice Department:
Forced Integration … And only in regards to white students or teachers.
No white student can relocate within the Parish and change schools… Regardless of whether or not they move 30 miles away … And must provide their own transportation to school if they do move.
White children moving into the Parish may be relocated to schools throughout the Parish that are not in the area where they live.
No white teacher can relocate within the parish and change their school … and some white teachers were moved from outlying areas into the failing schools.
Any African American can attend any school of their choice within the parish … And transportation will be provided.
Any African American can teach at the school of their choice within the Parish.
We are not talking about moving children across town ... But across the whole Parish ... Because just about everyone but the African Americans have already moved out of town.

Now … Who wants to say that forcing white children to attend failing schools … Managed with failing policies … Instituted by failing politicians … Is a good thing?
You are damn right it is leveling the playing field ... But it doesn't help anyone ... It is only intended to punish the white children.
The administrators are still the same in the failing schools ... The stupid racially biased policies they support are still present.
The only thing that changed is the inability for white people to say they have had enough of all the racist BS ... and get out of the quagmire of destructive politics.

    PRISONS

Racial diversity causes violence in prisons. Prison race riots appear to be at least as common as school race riots--though more deadly--and no more likely to attract national attention. Again, Southern California leads the way.

Hispanics outnumber blacks in the prisons, and racial tension has boiled beneath the surface for decades. It was already old news in 1995 when the Orange County Register ran the headline, "Blacks Jail Inmates Say They Live in Fear of being 'Ambushed'." Blacks in the Orange County Men's Central Jail said they were afraid to leave their cells for fear of being attacked by more numerous Hispanics.

On February 23, 2000, 200 blacks and Hispanics at Pelican Bay State Prison started slashing one and critically wounding another. Prisoners still managed to stab at least 32 fellow inmates. Whatever the cause of these outbreaks, whenever the guards thought they had stopped the fighting it would break out again, and as a last resort, guards formally segregated the prisoners. Noting that there had been more than 150 major race-related disturbances since 1991, Sheriff's Chief Taylor Moorehead explained that "it would be foolish to do anything but segregate."

My point throughout all of this is that race mixing does not work. Notice here with the prison example that blacks despise Hispanics and vice versa. You can take this simple example and expose the problems that integration and or race mixing have on our nation in practically any kind of social genre imaginable--be it the workplace, the living arrangements, church, sporting events, politics where we have racial tensions, prisons, schooling, busing and in fact, those examples are prevalent in our society as laid out in the book WHITE IDENTITY. What you and others may want to do is to give us examples of how varying groups of races actually get along in any social situation, and or for any lengthy time period.

I may be 'bigoted' in certain ways and approaches. But that bigotry is NOT directed at people for the purpose of separating them out. That is unlike the OP or subsequent commentary is in this thread.

I know the communicative 'tone' of bigoted racists in America; they DO NOT want 'light' to shine upon what they are communicating. So, I just come in and attempt to (at least) shoot off a flare or two; yes, it is dramatic. Yet, rather than trying to put other human beings down, my goal is often to scream the equivalent of... "The BRIDGE HAS COLLAPSED!!" (Look at what they are saying, over here!!)

And that may seem unjustified, until one considers the cumulative effects which racism and racial bigotry has had upon the United States over the years. So, what I'm doing may seem wrong to some, but my purpose isn't. If I have the time to do so, I will call out racism and the views/attitudes that tend to lead to the same.

So no, I will not tolerate that notion that one can say/express whatever they wish... and others should come back calmly and in perfect rationality, showing zero emotion or outrage. I can reasonably assure anyone here, that I will not seek to attack their character nor their right to participate here because that is against the rules and not my goal at all. I'm talking about America as a whole most times, not the person typing on the other end of a keyboard, as some would indicate by saying things such as:

Racism? Sorry, no tolerance for that. Nor am I tolerant of gay or anti-race bigotry. I will respond to that, when I have the time to do so... and it will NOT always be in a kind or particularly scholarly fashion. I promise to make it fairly LOUD and CANDID, when I respond to racism or those proliferating thoughts which 'promote' the same.

Bigoted in my approach to combating racism? Perhaps. Bigoted against others because of their ethnicity... never.
