He has made the herculean .work He made Russians to hate the United States. Even the Communists could not do it.
I applaud the Russians for sobering up enough to take a poll. You may now resume life with your dash-board cameras, vodka binging and paranoia..Yes you hate America, we get it. The feeling is mutual. Putin is a tyrant. Good day.
I could give a flip what the Russians think. Just as I don't give a flip about what the French, Italians, Swedes, Mexicans, Australians, Japanese etc think.
Cool, news flash... We don't like them either. They can fly their bombers around our borders and park their subs out there and be annoying all they want. What makes them so mad is that they know annoying is all they will ever really be. It must be hard for a nation to go from being a superpower empire threat to annoying practically overnight. They aren't the Soviet Union anymore and no amount of kicking and screaming from Putin is going to change that fact. Before when bombers with Red Stars came close to our borders we scrambled our interceptors with red alert type resolve. Nowadays when we see them on the radar the guys in the radar rooms sigh and say "go launch some fighters, the Russians are being annoying again". That must sting pretty hard for Russia to know that their greatest enemy once had a healthy fear of them but now simply views them as that annoying neighbor who won't turn his music down when you're trying to sleep at night.
Why would you care? There is a large portion of the Russian population that longs for the days of Stalin, so what does that tell you?!
There are also a large portion of a segment of our population that enjoys being slaves to the government, so what does that tell you besides some people would rather be taken care of cradle to grave.
It prolly has something to do with the Obama administrations support for terrorist organizations like Al Queda, killing people in their allies country... I just have created this thread to learn - what do Americans think of this phenomenon? As there was no hatred towards the USA in Russia 20 years ago. Do not try to surprise me with your hatred towards Russia. It always existed and we know about this fact. We are saying about the new phenomenon - antiamericanism in Russia. The same social survey specify the causes of this phenomenon. What about you? Are you able to understand its sources? Or you just don't care?
Because Russians believed that Communism is the reason why they are hated. If they studied Geopolitics, they would have known that Russia is situated on the "wrong" place. The self-proclaimed wannabe "world government" wants to impose their moral norms (gay marriages, multiculturalism, etc) and their financial system upon the entire world, and they have to control the Heartland to be able to achieve their goal. But Russia happened to be situated in this place, so Russia must go. To cement the separation of Russia and Germany and prevent any cooperation between these countries the "world government" created NATO: As you see, they do not talk about "Nazis" and "Soviets", they talk about Russians and Germans, and that means volumes! Ukraine is just another buffer state that should ensure the separation of Germany and Russia, and be a pivotal region to conquer the Heartland.
There wasn't?....So after the Soviet Union collapsed everybody magically started to not view America as the number 1 enemy of Russia all of a sudden?
I'm glad you're making a distinction between disdain toward America and animosity toward Americans, which does not exist. On a personal level, Russians just as warm and open toward American tourists, businessmen and Americans in general as they've ever been. More to the point, the dislike is of an American foreign policy. Thank you, Obama.
It tells me, old folks are the same everywhere, longing for the order they've used to. What does it tells you?
No surprise that Barry has convinced the half as many Russians as he has his followers in America that America is a bad country. He gave "America is bad" speeches before he took office and he hasn't let up for one day. This is proof that Barry gives a great "Hate America First" speech. Because BH Obama loves to hate you, me and the whole of America. He can't stand what America stands for and if our president hates us why would the Russians like America??.
The Russians were never really our friends man...They haven't liked us since long before Obama was even born.
I think the Russian population is becoming radicalized in preparation for a future power grab by Putin and that's bad news for the future. You might think this is just a political matter between the USA and Russia, but I worry it's a sign that internal politics in Russia will follow an oppressive, corrupt path. Stirring up popular sentiment against a foreign power is just the kind of distraction that corrupt regimes would love so as to avoid scrutiny at home.
You are right, many Russians thought as soon as they cease to be Communists they will be cordially welcomed by Western brothers. The reality was much more gloomy. The main Russian crimes are their vast territory which occupies the all Heartland, resources and the potential power which in the long term can challenge the American leadership. This is why pressing Russia was never stopped since the Soviet collapse. Now they are wondering why Russians do not like US. As to a possible alliance between Germany and Russia, this is a nightmare of American elite. In this case they will have to leave Europe. This is why they will always prevent even a dawning of Russian German convergence. These people have organized two world wars to prevent this situation. They'll not change their behavior now as well.
You are wrong, Russians did not consider the USA as the enemy № 1. I do not think America is the main cause of disintegration of the USSR. The USSR was disintegrated according to internal contradictions, first of all. But many Americans here tried to prove to me that this is their merit and their country is the main cause of this disintegration. So inspiring this idea in Russians you give rise to reciprocal hatred. Is not it clear? However, we see growth of the antiamericanism since the end 90s only. - - - Updated - - - I think Obama is not free in his behavior. Usually we envy to presidents and to very rich people. But the reality is they are slaves of their high position. Obama is not the free person. The weakened Russia has the charismatic leader (man with balls). While the superpower - the USA has Obama. I suspect the personal rivalry with Putin and Russophobic elite push Obama to do ill deeds. Probably he is the nice person in his private life. But to be the good person and to be the good governor are different things. Nicholas II also was the nice person, but he was jeasely tsar. Unfortunately all of us are hostages of jeasely tsars. Because we die in wars, while they amuse their vanity and calculate a profit.
Anti-American sentiment is still stronger in Washington DC than in Russia. Anti-American government sentiment might be stronger in the U.S. than in Russia.
