Check this out; masked Antifa terrorist burn the US flag and gets arrested. Great news, people aren't putting up with their BS any more, they nailed him on property damage. But look how the thugs stand up to and antagonize the cops. If those cops were regular Trump supporters having a peaceful rally I'm sure the masked cowards would have viscously attacked them . Hey Antifa supporters, why does your team wear masks?
Again, I am puzzled. Why people, who - I assume - rally for some worthy idea - at least worthy in their eyes - and - I assume - mean no harm, conceal their identity? If they stand for their idea, and hopefully do this peacefully, then why hiding their faces..?
You are ignoring the fact that the arrest had zero to do with the flag itself. This individual, pyromaniac, endangered everyone around him. It is illegal to burn anything in public spaces. No fire extinguishers were present, nor any method of containment. In July, at the GOP convention, another flag burner managed to engulf himself in flames. Police extinguished the flames and arrested him. At least 1 other person suffered injury. Arson isn't protest.
I have no problem with face coverings, I take issue with violence. Perhaps you don't want to be seen by your associates to be on the wrong side of politics. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to use face coverings. My main issue is with police not intervening, and the lack of consequences for those actively threatening imminent violence.
What you have is an objective representation of fact. There is no law prohibiting flag burning. There are ordinances to protect public safety. Are you even aware of the infraction with which he has been charged? Either you don't, or you don't care to discuss, because it doesn't fit the narrative.
Really? No problem with face coverings? 1924 DNC "Klanbake". When Dems hide their faces, it's for good reason.
This kind of ridiculous justification can be used in any context. Laws in an authoritarian police state tend to be authoritarian themselves and "public safety" can be interpreted very widely. I was once told to take off my sunglasses because I was harming public safety so there's that.
Burning a political symbol is an act of violence? Was the Tea Party also an act of violence that the perpretrators should have been punished for?
Yes. So here this fellow innocently wades into a crowded street, and casually starts lighting things ablaze ... Dirty police. Fabricating charges. Pretending public safety is anything they care about.
O noes, he is burning a flag which is dangerous to noone as long as they're not being idiots! Better arrest him!! This is what democracy and liberty look like!!
You've completely missed the mark and threw in a false equivalency to boot. The truth is the anti fascist fascists hide their face to commit acts of violence. And no, flag burning is not an act of violence. Though it is an act of cowardliness.
Wading into a crowd and setting things ablaze, kinda defines idiocy. Plus, all the toxic fumes. AGW, you know.
It wasn't a controlled burn, what if he had suddenly thrown it into the crowd and it landed in someone's flammable product filled hair? or even worse, what if someone in the crowd was wearing parachute pants from the 90s? A crime against fashion of the highest order.
There can be no "antifascist fascists" by definition. How is burning a flag an "act of cowardliness" if you can get arrested for it?
how big is the fire allowed to be? could we have a bonfire of communist flags and tshirts and just call it free speech regardless of public safety?
Yes, I know. I'm mocking them for being the fascists they claim to be against. It's an act of cowardliness because it shows disrespect to our nation and all that it stands for in those stars and bars. I have a suggestion to anyone who would rather burn a flag and commit acts of violence than find a peaceful solution to settle political and personal differences, move. I hear the far left loves Socialist dictators. Perhaps they should reside in NK or Venezuela for a while. Gain some perspective.
I think I counted 15 large video cameras. (The media, right?) That seems like a lot of coverage for someone not named Brittany spears. Looks staged liked they knew the arrest was coming.
