On September 16, 1994, sixty-two students at Ariel School in Zimbabwe witnessed something incredible. It has impacted their lives to this day.
It's time to tell their story.

I have followed this story since almost the day it happened. John Mack, a Harvard Psychiatrist, was onsite to interview the children two months after it happened. The video of those interviews is what hooked me. There is no way these children are lying or making it all up. And now they have been interviewed as adults as well. It is a fascinating story.

The short version of what seemingly happened: A UFO landed next to a school yard. An alien got out and the children approached it. The children who were closest claimed what amounts to psychic contact with the alien.

There are many YouTube videos about it. The John Mack interview are available.

Many of the people who were there don't generally talk about it because they just get labeled a nut. One of the women who was there as a child said she never told anyone about it; not even her husband.

I hae also followed the story, and Mack is to be commended.

I believe these children, and the UFOs were seen by adults, as well.

I don't know what to believe. I think they encountered a UFO and aliens, but the story has changed over the years from what I remember from tellings in the past.

    1. In the original story, I heard that the aliens told the children what they would be when they grew up. That's not in any of the videos on this thread or what I hear about the story from today's media.

    2. The number of UFOs that appeared in the sky that day to the children has changed from one to two to now three. Only one landed by the children, though.

    3. That's not the only UFO/alien event that I've noticed has changed over the years. I'm sorry to hijack your thread, but I have to say it seems like someone is messing with the timeline, and history is being changed, and I'm the only one who noticed.

The original interviews can still be watched.

Something I almost never do, I paid the $20 and watched the new documentary linked. It was really good. For the first 15 minutes or so it dragged a bit. But then I it all started coming into focus.

Randall Nickerson is the producer. He managed to obtain the original films made by John Mack [former head of the Harvard Dept of Psychiatry]. The films are restored and digitized. These are interviews with the children and teachers right after the event occurred. These original interviews alternate with interviews with these same people now as adults. So on one level the documentary revisits the events that occurred through the eyes of children and then as adults. As adults they can add quite a bit of interpretation not possible for children.

But what surprised me is how this becomes the story of the personal journeys of the people involved. I didn't know this but this event nearly destroyed John Mack's career. He was all but shoved out of Harvard until his work was reviewed and essentially validated by his peers. The children involved were deeply affected by this. Some were traumatized and others were left isolated and unable to share their stories. Some parents didn't accept their children's stories. Some of the people who were there never talk about it. One woman said that even her husband doesn't know about it. One woman in particular is a focus of the documentary. She has been deeply affected and it continues to affect her life. She goes back to the Ariel school to connect with her past and get some closure. It was quite good.

The BBC reporter who originally broke the story is interviewed as well. He had spent most of his career covering war zones. He had lost many colleges and friends. But he said the Ariel school event was too much for him to handle. He concluded the story must be real. And it destroyed his career. But he said he's still glad he was there because he knows it's true.

The general theme that emerges is a familiar one. If you see a UFO and have a profound experience, you will pay a big price for that for the rest of your life. But you will still be glad it happened.

I definitely recommend watching the documentary. Eventually it should be available for free somewhere but I'm glad I paid the $20.
