A political-science journal that published an oft-cited study claiming conservatives were more likely to show traits associated with “psychoticism” now says it got it wrong. Very wrong.

The American Journal of Political Science published a correction this year saying that the 2012 paper has “an error” — and that liberal political beliefs, not conservative ones, are actually linked to psychoticism.

“The interpretation of the coding of the political attitude items in the descriptive and preliminary analyses portion of the manuscript was exactly reversed,” the journal said in the startling correction.

“The descriptive analyses report that those higher in Eysenck’s psychoticism are more conservative, but they are actually more liberal; and where the original manuscript reports those higher in neuroticism and social desirability are more liberal, they are, in fact, more conservative.”

In the paper, psychoticism is associated with traits such as tough-mindedness, risk-taking, sensation-seeking, impulsivity and authoritarianism."

 

I think he's saying that you appear to have money, and liberals like him are jealous of people like you, therefore when they see you dining at a restaurant they work at, they like to mess up your food so they can see how much of it you ate when they come clean your table off.

If that is what "rational" people are concerned about, they are more irrational than rational.

 

To the science it's not the amygdala that matters when it comes to fear.

Having a developed fear response is an evolutionary pluss. Fear is a good thing.

What matters is the higher brain. The prefrontal cortex that is hardwired into the amygdala. That is the break. It's how you turn fear and your other animalistic emotions coming from the limbic system into rational action and energy.

This function us commonly called executive function. A recent BBC study found that the majority of journalists have deficient executive function.

In other words they are emotionally speaking all gas and no break.

I hypothesize that on the average this is more common on the left hence all the emotional reasoning.

 

Furthermore the effect of the suze of thr amygdala on emotions js to this date not known. In highly aggressive people amygdala atrophy is statistically significant. It has been found that those with larger amydglas have stronger neurological connections between the amygdala and the frontal cortex. Meaning they may have more gas but they also have way more break.

The small amygdala being associated with anger rage and violence may well be the result of the lack of normal emotions in youth establishing the necessary neural pathways for normal adult emotional control.

The jury is still out on the side of the amygdala and negative emotions. Your screaming at the sky leftists may well be the VW Bug with no breaks.

 

I've found these studies to also be kind of enlightening. One showed liberals and conservatives pictures with both positive and negative images. The liberals would focus on the flowers in the right corner of the picture the conservative on the person pointing a gun at them on the left side.

The leftwing psychologists call this "negativity bias" rational people call it not being a ****ing idiot.

Conservative rabble need leadership. Pot is used by liberals to detune their brain down to conservative levels for communication purposes in the leadership of societies inclusive of conservatives. That's why many post smokers laugh a lot.
