    I would guess racist would not buy a product with a black person on the logo
    and blacks would not buy a product with a racist logo

    so why have it, seems bad for business as only non-racists with no idea what it meant would buy it

    my guess is the product sold well and the new owners were afraid to touch it, but now that people are learning sugar is not the best for you, maybe it's not selling so well, and they are trying to do something to get the company free advertising as doing the right thing
