Now that almost all Australians are vaccinated and now that the Covid variant is milder we are letting the disease run a controlled course. No lockdowns and reduced restrictions. It's called science and logic.

    What's your beef?

They're popular among mainstream Democrats too. Tons of jeering whenever a prominent Republican gets COVID, along with death wishes, etc. It's not a one-sided thing.

No, probably not. Wishing ill for your opponents is nothing new.

    Oh! Dear!

Didnt quite read everything did you? But as usual seemingly you WANT to believe that we are currently some fascist/communist country even though your link in no way supports your claim

    https://news.yahoo.com/australia-suffers-deadliest-day-pandemic-011555138.html

Oh! And our “Deadliest Day so far” number 76

Seventy Six deaths - for the entire country

Queensland deaths in that, well they break down to 16 deaths - 3 were in there 70s 8 were in their 80s 4 were in their 90s and 1 was aged over 100. 4 had not been vaccinated 2 had one does of a vaccine 10 were doubly vaccinated none had received a booster 9 had been in aged care

Too bad the rest of didn't have to only suffer through the Omicron part of the pandemic.

Not having a Delta wave means far fewer people died.

You mean like the US is over 3/4 of a million and Australia is like still under 3,000

Yes, Delta killed more for everyone.

The difference is that Australia didn't have a delta wave anywhere near most other countries. I wonder why?

No it didnt because we “locked down” but it still got here and we had to battle it and it is still here. Not all cases are Omicron variant

It's fine to argue that Australia's approach wasn't better.

It's dishonest to argue that it didn't reduce the number of infections/deaths.

So don't move to Cuba. For the rest? Australia's still higher on the freedom index that the US though. Was yesterday, is today and almost certainly will be tomorrow.

And P.S. stop falling for the Texas sharpshooter fallacy - it leads to silly statements (like yours).

Well they are used to living life As inmates they started life on that continent as a colony of inmates.
So it would seem that their transition as a society to a totalitarian authority is somewhat genetic

Anyone who believes Australia is a freer nation than the USA..,

Well I guess I'll reserve my genuine opinion because I do not wish to stir up the ire of the moderators.

Just put it this way it's a very irrational opinion not based on any facts and reality that we can observe

Prison population of USA 1.8 million.
    Prison population of Australia 42,970.
America locks up it's citizens at a rate of around 4 times that of Australia.

Do you actually understand WHY the cases are exploding?

It's because we dropped the 'tyranny'. We ended all lockdowns etc late last year. This is the result of that.

Dude, it happened AFTER we ended lockdowns. That's WHY it happened.

And the rest of the world didn't get to have huge chunks of that two years mask-free, virus-free, and living like 2019.

Cowards are those who lie down and let the virus have its way with them.

Would you care to tell us what is the population of Australia and then tell us what is the population of the United States.
