What gun fight are you talking about? The chances of a person getting into a gun fight are so minuscule that preparing for that eventuality is nothing but paranoia and, I suspect for some people, wishful thinking. It is that exact mentality that I am talking about. There is taking reasonable precautions, and then there is delusional fantasy world, where you can't go to the variety story without preparing for a gunfight.

Don't confuse gun nuts with professional civilians. Funny thing.....you may run into one or two every day depending on your job and lifestyle and never know who they are.

And it's not out of fear.

Of course it's out of fear. Fear that you will be the one to experience the statistical anomaly. In the same way, people fear getting into airplanes, taking an elevator, looking over a cliff... it is highly irrational, and completely out of touch with what Western life is like: pretty damned safe.

It's okay bro. You can admit that you're scared. No need to project on a person who doesn't arm themselves.

Jeez, you must be a sensitive little fella. No wonder you're so scared all the time. If bro is an insult to you, just stepping outside your basement would become terrifying.

A street gangster? Is that what you imagine when you hear the word bro?

Well, what can I say. You've aged yourself. I'm 90% positive you're a boomer now. What's that feel like - to belong to a generation that literally destroyed the United States?

Not at all. On both sides of the gun control debate, you have crazies who are scared of statistical anomalies, who literally demand that people alter their behavior and act like scared little children. Progunners do this by talking about criminals and home invasions and government conspiracies to disarm you. Anti-gunners do it by talking about mass killings and the murder rate. Both are equally as delusional, and timid little wimps to boot.

He's right you know..we did raise a generation of rude, disrespectful, unthankful, irreverent, unholy, entitlement dependent, socially crippled, and unable to carry forth the torch of freedom, over-sized brats.......

Speaking of entitlements, how's your medicaid? How's your social security? How was living during the greatest government infrastructure investments of all time?

That's the sad thing about you boomers. You can't just admit how awful you behaved. Forty years of out of control spending, and too selfish to pay for it yourself. So you elected nutcases who just kicked it down the road, until now we have trillions in debt, with a broken political system, all thanks to the greediest, least informed generation in American history. You guys were literally the only generation to leave things worse for their kids. Pathetic and shameful. You were handed an enormous amount of wealth, a strong and unified society, the best material standard of living in the world... And you destroyed it.

Luckily, the Millenials and Xers are used to working very hard for minimal benefits. In this way we'll be able to pay for your health care and SS and pensions until you die. Then we'll work until we die, demanding balanced budgets and strong investments in future generations, so that your grandkids don't have to go through what we did. You're welcome.

Speak for your family, friends and associates. I am not so quick. Are you the one yelling at kids to get off your lawn? Anyways, I get what he is saying and partially true but I will not blanket a society with this notion.

I don't expect Boomers to listen. They never have and they never will. Instead, they'll continue to enjoy their retirement on the backs of their kids, and die fat and happy.

Well, having worked from 8 yo til 16 yo doing menial jobs and could get a SSN, then served my country in her military, graduated from college, and given back working in aerospace in her defense, paying my way the whole time (now including $115/mo for Medicare), I'd like to hear what YOUR generational great accomplishments are as a responsible member of your nation (cant be 'were' as you sound to snot-nosed to have really done anything to date)....btw, taking up space and whining are not accomplishments!

Be a man that you claim to be. I've been paying SS and medicare all my life for generation ahead of me.....or are you telling me you're lesser of man then I?

You say we left your generation with debt but yet it was your generation that put Obama over the top in his two election.

So not only you're lesser of man then I, you doubled down on stupidity.

So it's your time to pony up......just like I had too. And quit your (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing.

You sound like me talking to my father when I was 18.....and my son talking to me when he was 18.

    Generational. Are you bitter?

Me thinks the greatest accomplishment of his generation so far is flapping his irreverent jaws ala the Internet and being so socially & sexually impotent as not to keep the birth rate up to pay for HIS social 'entitlements.'

Translation: you made your living working in an industry that relies totally on taxpayer dollars, using technology invented and propagated by the government, which you no doubt think should stop spending on everything but those programs that benefit you. Its the typical boomer mentality - "Give me what's mine and don't ask for anything for yourself." Cut education spending. Cut high-tech R&D and research. Never mind that you made a living off these things - taxes are too damned high!

    Its laughable.

What has my generation done? You mean besides creating the largest sustained productivity boom in all of human history? Putting rovers on Mars? Connecting the entire planet via the internet? (*)(*)(*)(*), I'm not even 30, and I've never taken a dime of government money. Not a cent. No welfare, no economic assistance during lean times, no school loans, nothing. And here you are lecturing me about being entitled? Good god, the Boomer disease is worse than I thought.
