We can disagree, I tend to lean Libertarian and support right to free association.

Under the current law, a cake is not speech. Writing on a cake or depicting a POV is considered speech and cannot be compelled. I hope the SCOTUS rules that cake is speech. It won't be long before absolutely everything is considered speech and we'll at last have the right to freely associate.

My position is consistent with American Liberal Democracy and Libertarianism. We are free-will soveriegns operating in close proximity with one another and there is a role for government to regulate where our rights impact one another, and there is a role for personal virtue which removes the need for the government to even get involved.

Assuming this is a conflict between two virtuous people.
Assume each of their views are of the same inherent value.
At that point, they should interact with one another to see if they can each accommodate the other, even if it involves some expense, that expense being the price each willing pays to live in peaceful society.

Now should they fail to come to a mutually agreeable accommodation, then they take the matter before judge and each willingly abide by the impartial decision that is arrived at by applying just law.
True, but the writing on it is most certainly speech.
I would agree with that, but, the customer also has the right to his speech. I would like to see the Court, well actually, I would much prefer as these two work this out between them in a mutually respectful manner, but, that opportunity is now lost, so I would like to see the Courts adopt a test that balances the interests of each in a sensible manner. To me it would make sense to not require great cost on the part of one side, if the other side could accomplish their goals at merely some cost.
    That makes sense to me.
    You lost me.
    Do you mean disassociate?

What writing did the gay gentlemen request on their cake? I find it incredibly hard to believe that gay men would want writing on a wedding cake. I know gay men; they tend to be classier than that.

If a cake (without writing,) is speech, so is pizza and all other types of foods. Most chefs will agree that cooking is more art than science and baking is more science than art. If cake is speech, so are all other foods. If food is speech, so are beverages.. .if food & beverages are speech, so are the plates and cups they are served in.

The list goes on and on until nails are speech. :)

Exactly, it's all bullshit. Who in their right mind would eat a cake that you forced another to prepare against their will? And especially to serve it to your wedding guests! Never going to happen. They shopped for someone they suspected holds views they do not believe should be held and then are engaging OUR courts to punish them for holding "wrong" views.

    They fool no one.

Not quite. Of course many of America's right are not hypersensative, though I know of times when certain Rightists were acting overly dramatic.

Likewise, we should be able to run all christians out of state? We can just refuse to sell them food. So we can have white-only States, and christian-only States, and black-only States, and religion-free States?

How can anyone have rights if those who don't like it can just starve them out of existence; or deny power or gas or trash service?

A simple "my apologies for not understand your post to another poster, and jumping in and embarrassing myself and bothering you" would have sufficed.

A simply apology for I screwed up would be quite appropriate at this time before you dig your hole too deep trying to be snarky.

Notice that not only did you NOT say
"Except that still nobody knows the name_ of the baker."

You said names of these bakeries

    CLEARLY PLURAL
    , two different businesses.

    Stop digging your hole.

    Apology will be accepted............

Because the mother in the OP said she went to bakeries. CLEARLY PLURAL. And the poster who I responded to was talking about the CLEARLY PLURAL BAKERIES THE MOTHER IN THE OP SAID SHE WENT TO.

Maybe if you had read the OP instead of obsessing about my posts and had read anyone else's posts too, including the one I had quoted in my post that got you so confused, you wouldn't have made this idiotic mistake. Now put your tail between your legs and scamper off. I'm tired of educating you. It's pointless.

Yeah I have read that beore

It is such a shame that the partisan war has to get into stuff like this and liberals like the other guy just froth at the mouth to ruin someone's life in the sacrifice of their ideals.

Like you saw in the argument earlier, they always try to paint it back into why their opinion is more valid and how you are evil/racist/bigoted when in fact, they are being MASSIVE bigots by not allowing people to think differently.

Bill Maher has been saying it best, the majority of people who voted for Trump were not racist. The majority of people who voted for Trump are sick and tired of the victimization and cry baby tactics of the left.

The Left's message is good, their actions are however god aweful

We agree on a great deal, but he Left's message is horrible, its just nicely dressed.

They deny our rights pre-exist government and are bestoyed on us by God, simply for being human.
They deny that government cannot take away these rights should a small group of elitists that "best" for all of us.
They hate our constitution and seperation of powers, because it perserves our Liberties against their deadly utopian pipe-dreams.
You are always living out someone's dream, the difference in America is that you have inalienable right for that dream to be your OWN, not the dream of a Elitist Utopian Tyranny.

Don't let their smiles and sweet language fool you. They are deadly, implacable and they despise virtue.

You are just looking at the negatives, a lot of which we do agree on. But I can make a list of things that the Republicans do that is very authoritarian as well especially on the social side of things.

But when it comes to The Left, for example, I think creating a more "cohesive" and friendly business environment is extremely healthy and has been beneficial for growth as well. I give my employees more in responsibility and pay as I try to make them more a piece of the company. The old school totem pole type office is gone and other than the warehouse guys, no body is unable or afraid to speak up on something they think would be a great idea. While not owners, they are taught and understand that their bonuses fluctuate DIRECTLY with the performance of the company, just like the owners do. Being so, they watch the monthly numbers as closely as I do and it makes them all much more involved and excited to work and grow together. Yeah I give away some profits I could take directly, but my beet is that this will also make me grow more than usual. We will see....

While the Left, like usual, go's way out of the way to paint businessmen as evil, parts of the message go through and really transform modern day business owners. I can easily see it in an owner who is 25-40 vs one that is 40+. Being so styles of business like my own are built because of influence from The Left.

As the Republicans party comes more and more to the middle with Gay rights and a bit softer stance on abortion as a whole, the Left is and will be forced to go on to more and more radical ideas that the public does not support like they have done before. I think with that they are beginning to push too far and are now seen as the more aggressive of the two parties.

I really think that is why more Independents are moving to the center-right. Can you imagine if Republicans had a REALLY great candidate for 2017? Yeah, there were a lot of guys, but none of them great. The Left has lost a lot of trust from the public because of what I said above, but they have a few great principles that are now ingrained in society that I am thankful for.

PS - Do not copy them by going over the top with insane victimization and cry baby tactics. I have sadly seen you Rigthies copy the Leftist tactic more and more here and I hate it.

There are a number of them.
Small r republican differs from Big R Republicans. Many Republicans do not have a clue as to what republicanism is. It's just the jersey the wear in their illegitimate quest for power. In outlook they differ little from the elitist masterminds who view our individual freedoms and their guarantee in our founding documents as a "problem" though they will tell a lot of lies during the election cycle.
    That's awesome!
That's great stuff, like me, it sounds like you are embracing the incoming Millennials.
That's a good point. The mainstream of the thought of the Republican base is becoming much more moderate and respectful of the innate rights of the individual, and Trump's work on moving them to respect Gay Rights has been nothing short of phenomenal. Scott Adams, who writes the Dilbert Column thinks he has incredible, innate leadership skills and that he intuitively "paces and leads" so first he gets in pace with a movement, makes it clear he understands and cares about them, and then he leads them toward a better understanding to the extent they can handle it. For example, Gay Rights, and our duty to improve our inner cities.

And I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it, but the theoreticians that guide the Left increasingly seem to be just more and more out of their minds.
What a thought provoking post, thank you.
Yeah, the Left imitates some our worst moves as well.

Our impeachment of Clinton was just short of a complete disaster, we wasted a lot of valuable time and effort on pursuing a scandal rather than greater excellence in government. We have never recaptured the momentum we had, before we foolishly got wrapped up in impeaching the President. In our system it is nearly impossible to drive a President from office and they are term limited!
